Mitch Nelles is likes nails on a chalkboard. What was the total amount of times he said, "we are with UWM coach LaVall Jordan on the Mitch Nelles Show. About 6!! That being said, at least the focus was on LaVall Jordan.

As much as most disagree with whomever, we need people to be at games and support the players and the new coaches, it's not their fault.

His message continues to be to let bygones be bygones and get behind the team. I just hope that happens sooner rather than later - team deserves to be in the spotlight, not every John doe with a gripe.

Seems to me a lot of the people with gripes are the ones sticking their names and necks out there. I'm including myself. But my message afterward during my spot echoed what you said the other day - rally around LaVall Jordan and the kids that stay behind. Sent from my SCH-R970 using proboards

You're all welcome to stick your necks out there and there is blame to go all around, but at some point it is time to move on. Coach is saying it so I'm getting behind him and pushing his message.

What else can he say? He has to say that. He's stuck in the middle of something he had no hand in creating, and for that I feel for him. But for many, support, aside from moral, benefits Braun and that will not pass muster. Until she is gone, many will do little more than cheer for him on their own, probably in private. It's like asking people to support workers at a company with a rotten CEO by buying the product, which only makes the CEO more secure in his/her position. I am sure you can see how that will never work. Unfortunately, there are innocent victims, and LJ is just that for now. And for that I am sad.

You're suggesting a better approach is to burn down the village to remove the king. The innocent women and children are just collateral damage. I don't think either approach is good. My suggestion is more like diplomacy - find common ground and move forward. LJ and the team are our common ground.

PantherProud, the village is ALREADY on fire. We didn't light it. We ARE the villagers, too. The players are suffering, but so are a lot of us who care as much as we do.
Here is a little musical reference for you:

You're all welcome to stick your necks out there and there is blame to go all around, but at some point it is time to move on. Coach is saying it so I'm getting behind him and pushing his message. I respectfully disagree. There's no moving forward so long as Amanda Braun runs the department. When George failed his coup, the people who took his side still held enmity toward Rob. When Costello royally screwed up, there were still people pointing to Rob as a problem. Geiger continued mucking things up, and Amanda lit this place on fire. Rob was right when he said to me that things won't change until he's gone. Now he is. Amanda remains. And if she stays for the long haul, the cycle will be - who are we kidding, it already has - attached to her. We need a clean slate more than anything - for all of us and for LaVall and all the coaches and kids who play in this athletics program. This cycle needs to end and it needs to end now. Amanda needs to go, or she needs to set fire to the entire place. Some would say, as would I, that she already has. But you can't keep this going forever. You have to break the cycle, and as long as she is here it's going to continue. Mark Mone can claim ignorance. She wasn't forthright with him, something like that. But she tore open a wound that has been infected for seven years. People aren't going to forget that. It goes far beyond basketball - whether it's berating long-standing coaches in the hallway or running people out of the program, she's the one who ripped this place open. You need a scalpel to cut for surgery. But the scalpel doesn't sew things back up. The scalpel can only cut, the evidence of which we continue to see with this ridiculous recap of Rob's last ten years that she put together. You're kicking a guy while he's down and for what - to justify your terrible decisions? She has played a pretty sad little smear campaign, dismissing the loud calls for her firing as the complaints of the few. But look at Darkhawk's poll - most of us here [not including me] supported firing Rob. This isn't about Rob's firing, it never was. She needs to go. Or else this place will never, never, never heal. And I'm really sorry about that. I've always gotten along with her publicly - although I probably wouldn't as much if I knew things that I've learned over the last couple days. Good people in that athletics program are scared to speak up. They fear for their jobs, they fear legal action. A lot of them saw good people speak up in the climate study - which happened before she ever set foot on campus - get run out of town by an athletic director bent on working straight out of Machiavelli's Playbook. She surrounded herself with a small circle of people who will help her reach the ends she wants. And those ends, to her, justify the means. She consolidated her power by clearing out everyone she thought wasn't behind her. I want to move on. I can't wait to move on. But Amanda has to go before this can happen.

Here is a little musical reference for you: That's your viewpoint. All I can say is the conversations I have had with people in the department this week, even those Ive never met before, make it clear to me that there are two camps. Not all feel like Bill. Some view this as a good move. I don't know or care whose argument is best...just think it is time to move on.

But all of it is caused by different factions with loyalties to different AD's. Firing Braun only creates yet another faction that is loyal to her under a new regime. It's madness. The turnover needs to stop as well.

No....a purging fire is sometimes necessary. I called for that a month ago, publicly, I might add. Few agreed with me then, but they do now. There is no repairing any of this while she is there.
Not only must she go, but everyone in that department needs to be evaluated. If it means an all new staff, so be it. That is what a purging fire is. Clear it all out, start fresh, and reset all the relationships.
Vall has nothing to fear from the likes of me, or those who think like me. I want nothing to impact him, and want the department reset so he can succeed with full support and resources.
If you cannot see that we are well past the point of no return, I guess there is not much anyone can do to convince you that this, while regrettable, was not avoidable. It was always destined to occur, and now it is the only path forward.
