Someone check Mone for a pulse while he is under his desk. Cue the "admin" (read: UWM Communications Director) locking and deleting this post, PantherProud claiming Bill Johnson knows nothing about basketball, and scores of brand new users showing up to tell us that Johnson was not meeting expectations and should not be listened to about St. Amanda Braun, patron saint of awesomeness. EMBRACE THE CHANGE (or you will be executed at dawn). We are the Braun. Resistance is futile. You will be assimilated. Why are you bringing me into this? Seems like you have an axe to grind against a person you don't know because I don't agree with every piece of crazy you post out here. I do think there are things I can agree with you on. This is one of those. Bill Johnson is a good guy and i'm sad to see him go. However, your approach of dragging people into something and trying to speak for them - which you've done to multiple people - shows the type of person you are. Flaming graphics and insults don't win arguments. |

Thank you Bill!! This was him speaking for the voiceless that are being held hostage in that Athletic Dept.. Does Bill care if people in his industry think it makes him look bad? No he does not and that is why I respect him for doing it. To many people these days are so afraid to stand up and call things out. If this does not scream that things are in shambles on the East Side then I don't know what does. I listened to Amanda's interview on WSSP.. How can anyone believe a word she says? We all knew she was never qualified, and Bill said it. I trust him since she was basically his boss for the last 3 yrs. She will keep collecting a check.

It does however irritate me that you seem to be willing to look past a huge Dumpster Fire on Downer (TM) as if it will have no impact to what happens on the court/field. This has impacted all the student athletes for a long time (not just now), and some of us are more concerned about sticking up for them than we are wins and losses at the moment. Can you join us in standing up for them, and then we will ALL join you in the crusade to become Butler 2.0? I would love that more than anything. You have my word....no more jabs at your identity. Deal? I'm absolutely on board with standing up for them and have been this whole time. I think that you can stand up for the players and coaches against the wrongs of the administration and try to become Butler 2.0 all at the same time. I think the arguments being made are valid - just think taking a more professional, positive approach would be more effective in getting the answers we are all seeking. That's the approach that was taken and was successful when everyone wanted new athletic offices instead of a shack and to move games back to the Cell in the Pearl era. What we didn't do was go call for Bud's head on every radio station in town - instead we went to the administration/coaches privately and threw our support behind the cause...It got results and saved the program a lot of black eyes. You have yourself a deal. |

So Johnson said they've been trying to "fire Rob Jeter for eight years." Didn't Jeter turn down an offer from Bradley after the '11 season? He also insinuated UWM basically forced Jeter to sign a long-term contract after his first season so as to not be considered a "stepping stone" job after losing Ryan and Pearl. Finally, he stated that he didn't have anything personal against Braun, less than 12 hours after calling her a "deplorable human being" on Instagram.
This has been another embarrassing chapter in a book that needs to be closed. It's a complete joke.
