Once in a great while I get the chance to do the color on a game with Bill. I'm just an amateur, of course. I try to add a little here and there by knowing our team and the opponent well and calling out a few things that Bill may not have time for, and I think Bill and I work well together. But my number one rule is to let the man do his job and not get in the way. When you sit next to him and see how well he operates, how quick-witted he is, how observant he is and how relaxed he is, it is really impressive. As much fun as it is for me to see the game from that perspective and add my two cents (or maybe it's just one) what really makes it fun is getting to watch a pro like Bill up close. We are very lucky to have him.

When you really look at it we are lucky across Wisconsin sports.
I have listened to announcers of other teams in various sports and been very bored or disinterested by them.
We have Bill Johnson, Wayne Larrivee, Bob Uecker, and Brian Anderson who are all very good at what they do.

I just watched on the DVR the Rob Jeter Show and they did a fantastic feature on him. Started in 1999, with a buzzer beater win at Central Michigan.

Bill is fantastic,
Like I have said before he has a bit of Eddie Doucette in him. Makes it fun. His passion is great yet also matched by his knowledge. GREAT play by play guy. He is a treasure for UWM in my opinion and at some point he really should be inducted into the Panther Athletics Hall of Fame preferably while he is still active with us. I can not imagine Panther basketball without Bill. Super great guy to boot. Steve King

Bill is a great guy. I was able to have a beer or two with him up at GB during the '14 HL tourney. Very friendly and eager to talk Panthers hoops.
