KingSteve,
As for the Arena, look for Admirals owner Harris Turer to do more upgrades to UWM Panther Arena. They are building a new kitchen to improve the food. That's the main one that has went public so far.
The gift shop looks nice. I don't understand the major lack of choices.
As for the atmosphere. South Dakota, Wright State, Oakland, Detroit and Green Bay the crowds were great! Oakland and Green Bay had tons of students at those games. Wright State and Detroit had good general public crowds. Green Bay game had well over 5,000 at the arena. Good energy in the building for all those games.
The last two games not so much, but there shouldn't be when your up by 30 plus point. Also, the 1-4 road trip slow the mojo and three weeks between home games might also be a factor. I think Friday night versus Valpo will be a great Horizon League atmosphere.

The Bucks vs Lakers took some fans away from Panthers. I agree with Steve on many points. I think Jeter has grown as a coach but there are coaches out there that may have taken this team with two senior bigs, an all conference point guard, and shooters on the bench to a conference championship game against Valpo. The arena looks great but a core of fans must be larger than a couple of thousand. What does it take? This is a huge university with thousands of students and alumni. You would think 5k would be guaranteed. The soccer team draws almost as well. So what to do? Look ahead and go for the best. The best coach, the best and smartest players need to turn this program around. Why is Butler in The Big East and doing well? They have had great coaches with vision. They have commitment to success in the Atheletic Deartment. They sell out their Arena. The inferiority complex of UWM is its worst enemy. Just think if Bo Ryan had stayed and dedicated his life to UWM instead of UW.

Students from outside the city are dedicated Badger fans and nothing will change that, especially without a football team.
