Old post giving a heartbeat. I would like to see the Horizon League sign a TV deal with a smaller sports channel that would give the league at least 30% coverage. Walk away from ESPN, ESPN does not have one care in the world for the Horizon League. I know it is about $$$ but if your not getting coverage your not going to grow.

And what channel is that going to be that gives us more coverage and that people can actually watch?

I just love the idea of freeing ourselves from the vice grip of ESPN and five or six nationally televised league games per year.

I will easily take the HL's arrangement with ESPN over the SL's arrangement with CBS Sports and Midco.
Today's news brings the SL closer to where the HL has already been for the past several years, but it still falls short. SL fans can finally see approximately the same amount of games on national linear TV as we have been seeing on ESPN linear. However, the SLN streaming subscription will be limited to just the conference. ESPN+ offers the same type of programming for the HL plus so much more for the same price, $9.99/month ("plus" reference intended) .
I love being able to access most Panther basketball games and all of the other programming offered during on ESPN+ during the four month college basketball season. I hope it continues for a long, long time.
Next, if the Panther program could once again simulcast over local broadcast TV, that would be great. But this is a different issue.
