This public service message brought on behalf of the fact that the Panther hoops season starts THIS WEEK.
I'm more optimistic about the team than I have been in years. This is a talented, experienced bunch. Last we saw Tiby, Panoske, Springs, Lyle, Wichmann, Jordan and all the other returning players they were rallying to win 9 of their last 13, and their last 4 in a row, in a season when they allegedly had nothing to play for. Turns out they played for pride, and proved they had plenty of it.
And last time we saw double A, he was tearing up Nova in the NCAA tournament.
Yes, replacing Steve will be a big task, but anyone who has seen Jordan Johnson play knows we may have a mighty mite on our hands. Add Brock Stull, Scotty Tyler, and oh yeah, Jayquan as soon as the NCAA relents, and we have depth and talent like we haven't had in years.
I'm stoked. I love the opening tournament in California. Those are three winnable games.
It's time to tipoff the best five months of the year. So in the immortal words of Bluto --
