I sincerely hope, for the sake of WSU and the HL, that the Raiders retain their ball coach.

What he needed to do was schedule a lot more aggressively.

What he needed to do was schedule a lot more aggressively. As a conference. We're 2nd in conference for SOS right now.

I'm guessing Oakland is #1.

Right, we're No 1 because of Oakland, Green Bay and us.
No Wright State fan would defend their schedule. It was filled with lightweights.

I wouldn't get too excited about being close to Valpo. They aren't that imposing or good. We played them close at home too and lost but both you and we (UIC) own stronger strength of schedule standings than them with far worse records. They haven't beaten anybody and we both should have beaten them......... Not quite. Besides Valpo currently owning a Top 50 win over GB, which will indeed count for something in the committee's eyes even if GB isn't in the tourney, they do also have one very solid Non-Conf victory: espn.go.com/ncb/recap?gameId=400596330The committee should look very nicely at that neutral court shellacking of #69 Murray State when comparing Valpo to teams in the 12 to 13 seed range. But if you had said "hardly anybody", I wouldn't have argued. For the record, I think RPI #63 Valpo's otherwise extremely weak Non-Conf SOS (240th) will likely cost them a seed line from where they are being projected. And the other issue is, they do need to win out to maintain their RPI, which is what's putting them in that 12 to 13 seed range. Are they good enough to do that? FWIW, Valpo is currently projected as a 12 seed at the holy grail of NCAA projection sites: www.bracketmatrix.com/ Could the Crusaders be headed to Dayton for a 12 vs 12 Play-in game?

No, the 12-12 play-in game is for the final at-large bids only. Valpo needs to win at Detroit and at Cleveland State yet. They still have a lot of work to do. If they end up tied with Green Bay, which is likely, the Phoenix will win the tie-breakers and host the tournament.

I love love love when the conference title comes down to the last week. That Valpo-CSU game on the last day is going to be so much better if it's for the title.

What a terrible game! overtime got ugly (minus a Charlie Lee? reverse layup)...but the players seemed gassed, so i imagine this definitely would've been an instance where a short shot clock would be a bad thing

How will we ever save our beloved game?!

People, do a simple thought experiment. Here's the argument, only very slightly exaggerated: "The 35 second shot clock has ruined college basketball! Teams like [ordinarily it's Wisconsin that's cited here] just run the clock down to the end until they shoot and the games end up in the 50s. It's boring!"
So tell me why the teams playing tams like Wisconsin don't just play faster on offense and bury the Wisconsins 78 - 54? After all, there's no rule at all that says you can't shoot the ball within the first 30, 24, 18, 14 or 6 seconds. That's completely up to you.
Go ahead, try it. Then show me the results.

Back on topic, right at the end of last night's broadcast the announcer said something like "Valpo, Cleveland State will be there, are you ready?"
I hope our players were listening to that implied slight. An I didn't mind at all seeing Cleveland play its key players nearly the entirety of a 45 minute game 40 hours before they have to play us. Let's have some fun on Sunday.
