Seems to me that no one on this board can be happy with a nice win - always need to find a way to be at least somewhat negative. Yes, I'm down on Jeter just like many (if not most) on this board. But I'll give credit where and when credit is due, and hats off to Rob and the staff for making some great adjustments at halftime. This has been a complete change this season from seasons past. Instead of getting buried in the first 5 minutes of the second half, we tend to come out of the locker room aggressive. Last night was no different. First 8 minutes we simply took over, then found a way to hold on. Kudos to the coaches and players. Job well done. On to Valpo! I'm very happy with the win! Down by 13 pts and the half and winning the game.

But with how we did it? Like G.o.D. said, it's lucky this wasn't a game against any other HL team. And as for being "happy with a nice win"? Umm, you do know UIC's record, right?

SRT- I sense some sarcasm there. But being one season removed from 8 wins (1 road), I think any road win, let alone one where we were down 13 at half, is a nice win.

Milwaukee was only a 1 point favorite and UIC was fighting for their first league win.

I kind of look at this game similar to a Packer-Bear, or Brewer-Cub game.
Throw out the records and however the teams have been playing up to the game.
They don't matter, anything can happen.

The spread seemed more than a bit low to me, even though the game was on UIC's homecourt. Additionally, I wonder what that spread would have been had the oddsmakers known that Kelsey Barlow was barely available. Anyway, I'm much happier with a win than I would have been with a loss. Survive and advance (to whatever postseason tournament awaits!).

Cody saw early minutes against Green Bay and was invisible. You can't expect consistent performances out of freshmen, and Rob's leash on Cody seems relatively short. If he produces he can stay in, if he doesn't he comes out. He's got slow defensive feet and almost no experience, so it's a rational position to take. However, if he does produce regularly, our bench can become an asset instead of our biggest weakness.

However, if he does produce regularly, our bench can become an asset instead of our biggest weakness. I agree with all those reasons for him not getting minutes earlier in the year. But now he is producing at a very good rate when he sees the court, and clearly deserves to continue getting minutes. So I hope the coaches recognize that and respond accordingly. As usual, for those interested, this "good" road win sent Milwaukee's RPI/SOS from 118/211 to 131/235 (3-2, 12-6 vs D-I). For the home loss, UIC's RPI/SOS went from 300/217 to 301/193 (0-4, 3-13 vs D-I).

At some point, this program must overcome its freshmanphobia.
We're not advanced to the point where we have the latitude to sit talented players, regardless of their class.
What are the alternatives to playing Cody now? J.R.? Bobo? J.J.?
Little Chute's Kenny Lowe has played 221 minutes, three times Cody's playing time, for a very good Green Bay team.
Cody is now 14 of 24 from the field this season; don't you want to see if there's more in the tank?

Cody's has to play now to get better. Just think how much better he'll be next year with experience.
