Even though the non-conference doesn't matter a ton I always love these early season tournaments.
Getting to watch 3 Panthers games in 3 days is a blast!

Like every contest this weekend, a winnable game.
It would be good to have Bobo back ... and to block out the distraction of all the empty seats.
Sometimes, you have to provide your own motivation. Actually, this should happen every game.

Another solid win! Going for the 3 game tourney sweep tomorrow. Two wins so far against tournament teams from last season.

According to Gametracker, the Panthers led nearly the entire game. They had 15 assists and only eight turnovers. They shot much better from beyond the arc than they did previously, but not quite as well from the free-throw line (just below 60%), and won by 11. Four Panthers scored in double digits: Aaron, Tiby, Kelm and Ariens.
On to the next game.

UWM is showing a consistent pattern of getting out-rebounded, but you can't complain about a shorthanded double-digit win. Arians, Aaron, and Tiby can all be game-breaking players; you just hope Jayo can play consistently without getting ahead of himself. And these last 2 wins are without basically any production from Panoske in addition to the injury to Niang.
This is what I was talking about after the exhibition. We've already accumulated two damn impressive wins while we're still feeling out everyone's role, while we're figuring out what our personnel looks are going to be, and while new faces are getting used to division 1. We can be so much better than even this - but as we know from last year, we can also be worse.

And I'm very impressed by our ability to stay out of foul trouble early in the year. (But that could be the refs.)

The cynic in me could easily dismiss a 3-1 start against tourney teams that have graduated significant contributors. But why do that? Let's enjoy a 3-1 start and recognize that this team may have some promise... We'll see what happens. But this much I know --- this team feels very different from the last couple years...

That was a fun game to watch (I paid the $8 online- that's peanuts for 3 games streaming) *what isn't worth $8 is the fact that the videoographer or whomever is in charge of the video feed- replays, in slow motion- EVERY SINGLE scoring play (which leads to a lot of missed live footage after said scoring plays). But overall, HD quality, and break-even... def. worth the $8 to see your Milwaukee Panthers. I really hope we can beat the Huskies tomorrow afternoon and get to 4-1 with more winnable games coming up. I wonder if Akeem Springs will be there? Or are transfers/red-shirts not allowed to travel with the team? Heck even if not- I'm sure he and the Prahl brothers and Trinson White could find a way down there. Not too many fans in the stands. And I expect the same at the Cell.... unless of course we keep up with our wicked winning ways... (I say 10-1 going into Buck Country for the Kill on 12/11). One game at a time though I know.... (more like 7-4 heading into Madison- but I see a fire in this team (pointed out by another poster earlier)- that I have not seen for some time. "Welcome back to the land of the living, Milwaukee". Who knows? This Tiby cat is hyphy AF. And that bodes well for a team that has been without a true leader since Ricky Franklin (you could argue Kaylon Williams, but I think that '10-'11 team was more leadership by committee (Ant, Tone, and K-Dub). Kelm, after disappearing last year, has reappeared big time. And Austin is playing great too. Lyle and Panoske have yet to find their peak-mode, but I think it's only a matter of time... getting minutes and realizing they can kick a can of whoop-ass just as far as Tiby and Kelm and.... oh, am I forgetting Jordan Aaron? Dude may be a chucker (so was Tone Boyle, and it worked out well in the end, no?)- if Jordan Aaron can continue to drop 25ft treys with defenders in his face as he did tonight 2x...? We could be on to something. Btw- nice jamming/dancing in the stands, Ken. You were on the video feed for a good 10-15 seconds. It was pretty dang funny. Well... only 5 more wins to be better than last season. Let's get the big momentum-building W tomorrow in DeKalb. GO MILWAUKEEE!!!

Ohp. And I almost forgot- McWhorter is a TRU point guard. You can tell the guy has court vision like no other we've seen for quite a while. He handed out 6(!) brilliant assists tonight- w/Zero turnovers. That's what we need, folks. That, and improved FT shooting and 10 or less TO's/game (and no more dang 10 minute scoring droughts!)- and we may just be a contender.
But cage your enthusiasm and swallow the key. The Panthers success/failure this season will either keep that in your X-Rays for life, or have you shatting it out to unlock a new era- and be proud to be a Milwaukee Panther Fan again. YumTumBout? (translation: "do you know what I am talking about?").
GO MILWAUKEE. BEAT the Huskies. I really do feel like fate hinges on tomorrow- MoJo is a helluva thing.

It was great to see the Panthers put the game away late in the game. The lead went from 6 to 11 points. No drama, just a solid win. UWM has now beaten 2 teams this year that was in the ncaa tourney a year ago!

Jordan Aaron is shooting 23% for the season, so I'd rather keep his chucking to a minimum. It was sure working yesterday though.

Good win.
Arians, Kelm, McWhorter and Tiby have been solid all year.
