Akeem Springs is also not listed. I think its just an oversight or they haven't signed all the paperwork yet to finalize everything.

I am not from UWM but I live in Milwaukee and prefer following UWM over the other team, I want to try and get the community aware of UWM Basketball. Would someone be able to give a scouting report on the players that played last year that are on this years roster. Strength, weakness and improvement, maybe a break down by position. Try and get people to know the team.

If your saying you want to get the community aware of Milwaukee Panther basketball, you should get season-tickets. The prices are the best deal in town! The Panthers have many new players this year and some solid guys back that will playing in better roles with the new guys.

I look forward in seeing Matt Tiby play for the Panthers! Got my first look at him at IWB's Summer Pro-Am. He was matched up versus everybodys big man in the likes of D. Gardner, Drew Winder and so-on. He got pushed around alot but had many good plays as well. Let's face it, he won't be playing the 5 spot for the Panthers and there is no Gardner in the Horizon League.

I def. liked what I saw this summer from the guys at the ProAm.

Would it be fair to say the '13-'14 lineup will look somewhere along the lines of this? (other players getting minutes, but this being the logical 11-man rotation?). I just wonder. With so many new players it'll be interesting to see what all pans out. I think we actually have a very talented squad this year. I'd be interested to know why many feel so-so about this incoming class and this season in general. Has anyone seen them play? Are there any signs that this season could be anywhere close to as miserable as last season? If so- do tell. I think the Panthers will make the Elite 8 of the NCAAs. Lol. But I always think that... (except '06-'07). Here is what I think might be the minute distribution to start out with:
25 Steve McWhorter G 6-2 185 Jr. Racine, Wis. (St. Catherine's/Indiana State) 1 Jordan Aaron G 5-10 160 Sr. Bronx, NY (Wings Academy/Southeastern CC) 15 Trinson White G/F 6-5 175 Jr. Milwaukee, Wis. 34 Austin Arians F 6-6 200 So. Stoughton, Wis. (Madison Edgewood) 3 Kyle Kelm F 6-9 210 Sr. Randolph, Wis. (Randolph) 10 Thierno Niang G 6-1 205 Sr. Dakar, Senegal (Bridgton Academy/Triton College) 22 Evan Richard G 6-2 175 Jr. Kieler, Wis. (Cuba City) 50 Brett Prahl F 6-9 215 Fr. East Troy, Wis. I think that J.R. Lyle and Malcolm Moore will play and play a lot.
Frankly, I don't think that Evan Richard or Cody Wichmann will play much at all.
And I've heard considerable rumblings that Kyle Kelm will redshirt this season.

The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee men's basketball team has officially added a pair of Division I transfers to its roster as the 2013-14 school year begins this week.
Malcolm Moore will join the Panthers after graduating from UTEP and will be eligible immediately for a single season of basketball. Meanwhile, Akeem Springs is coming to Milwaukee from Northern Illinois and will have three seasons of eligibility remaining after he sits out the coming year.
The 6-foot-7 Moore appeared in 21 games over two injury-plagued seasons at UTEP. He averaged 4.4 points and 3.0 rebounds per game in the first seven games of the 2011-12 season before tearing his ACL. He then played in 14 more contests while recovering from the injury during the 2012-13 season.
Prior to going to UTEP, Moore was a two-time All-Region 14 choice at Tyler Junior College in Texas. He earned Third-Team NJCAA All-America honors after his sophomore year, when he averaged 16.3 points and 7.5 rebounds per contest.
At Iowa City High School, he was a four-time all-state honoree who averaged 21 points and 11 rebounds per game as a senior.
"Malcolm is an experienced inside player that plays with high energy," Milwaukee head coach Rob Jeter said. "We're excited to have him on our team this year and he can certainly be a contributor for us."
Springs played in 18 games as a true freshman for Northern Illinois this past season, averaging 7.7 points and 2.9 rebounds per game. His best single-game effort actually came against the Panthers at the Klotsche Center Dec. 7, when he poured in 21 points off the bench. He also reached double figures four times and made eight starts before leaving the team in early February.
In high school at Waukegan Township, Springs was a Third-Team Illinois Basketball Coaches Association All-State performer who averaged 16.7 points and 8.4 rebounds per game as a senior. He averaged 22 points and seven rebounds per game as a junior.
"Akeem is a tough guard that is not afraid to mix it up inside," Jeter said. "He can also rebound from his guard position and is very strong at attacking the paint offensively. He'll certainly challenge our guys in practice this year and will be a key piece for us moving forward." The 2013-14 roster will also include a pair of new walk-on transfers from the Milwaukee area. Dan Studer is on the team after spending last year at UW-Stevens Point, while Connor Weas joins the team after a season at Lawrence University.

I am not so much worried about who will score on this team, seeing as we have a handful of capable scorers down our bench. I am more concerned about the distribution and consistency of scoring. I would hate to see the bulk of our scoring come from only one or two players. That will lead to scoring droughts and inconsistency. I think having an experienced point guard in McWhorter will make a big difference. Our guys won’t always be forced to create their own shots, but can instead rely on a pass-first point guard running an offense to create some opportunities.
I think that our defense likely improves. When Bobo was healthy last year he was one of our best defenders, so I think that definitely helps having him back. I also think the likely tandem of Panoske and Tiby on the blocks improves things from last year. Panoske really seemed to improve on both sides of the ball last year as the season progressed, and has really come along as a shot-blocker. I don’t know much about Tiby, but from what has been reported about his play at the proam he’s an aggressive defender with a nose for the ball. Having both a bigger Panoske and a 6’8” 230lbs. Matt Tiby gives us some noticeable size down low.
Some other positives:
-I’ve heard that Malcolm Moore, JeVon Lyle, and Trinson White could be seeing some noticeable playing time as well.
-After an impressive freshman year, Austin Arians will be coming back more seasoned and should be a solid contributor this year
-I think the silver-lining from last year is that we shot pretty decent from the FT line. If we can continue making our free throws while improving our defense and rebounding we should be markedly better than we were last year.
I’m hoping to see some inspired play from these young men. WAR PANTHERS!!!!
