Thanks to the help of former Panther player Deon Edmonds, I recently acquired a copy of the 1990 Milwaukee at Illinois game where Von scored 50 points in a 120-116 double OT loss to the Fighting Illini. I gave a copy to the Sports Information Department and they posted today a highlight clip on the Black and Gold Network. Enjoy! www.youtube.com/watch?v=hRQGouDxSy4

Wow.
This is amazing.
That had to be as bittersweet as it gets dropping 50 yet losing in double OT.

Man, that Vaughn Cade looks like a pretty good player.

Von McDade scored 50 points on 44 shots.
There were three games this past season where the Panthers had 44 or fewer shots.

That speaks to rotation/playing time, pace of play and the offensive freedoms or limitations accorded your players.

Because of the lack of media coverage at the time, I'm learning many of the details of Von's performance -- when he scored, how he scored -- for the first time.
This is truly a hidden gem.
