That means nothing. A finalized schedule can easily be switched.

Forget about Murray State and Belmont - Not gonna happen ! Northern Kentucky- Better get them on board for 2014-15 IUPUI - Option # 2 I would say - the Jaguars are moving to a 6300 seat facility Fort Wayne - not worth the time Milwaukee - get back to the Cell- get a long term lease, get the baseball field/ track handled , gt the branding and budget set, try for the MVC in 2014. I might as well bring this up, I'd rather have SIEU or Eastern Illinois than Fort Wayne if it came down to it. I'd probably take NKU , SIEU and Eastern Illinois SIEU - www.siuecougars.com/facilities/Vadalabene_CenterEastern Illinois - www.eiupanthers.com/sports/2007/6/25/Lantz%20Arena%20Complex.aspx?id=233 solid teams with facilities, travel partners, regional, and gets the conference to 12, so thats 22 conference games for basketball, just need 8 OOC games, and would help big time with scheduling. I'd go after these 3. NKU provides alot of promise. the 2 illinois teams may not be great in terms of wins of SOS ,, but thats more wins for us, and gets the conference more members, and less scheduling issues.and Baseball would be much more competitive, and would probably be better for us in terms of getting more home games later in the season in Milwaukee. those are the top 3 teams I'd go after 1.NKU 2 and 3 package deal (SIUE and Eastern )

and this can bide us more time for getting to the MVC, while still leaving the Horizon strong if we can ever get our heads out of our asses in the AD and get stuff fixed and handled and look better for MVC.
Somebody from the HL is gonna bounce to somewhere else i have feeling in the next 2 years ( Milwaukee, Valpo, UIC, Detroit ) Might as well be us first before we get shut out completely.
Probably won't be us, especially as long as we have the anti-athletics chancellor at Milwaukee !

What does either SIUe or EIU add? Nothing. Nothing at all. Just stay at 10 if those are the options. Yikes...

just saying if we gotta go to 12, because Milwaukee, Detroit, UIC and Valpo all looking to dip , and the Horizon has to protect itself.
But yes I agree, I would prefer 10 with NKU, but that won't happen til 2014-15 at the earliest if at all. IUPUI would be option # 2 if you go 10 teams.. Does IUPUI have baseball ?

I think Big DWSU is going to have to put this in his sig line for awhile. He's had to repeat this statement too many times in too little time.

The HL is not going to expand beyond our current 9 if it doesn't give us a legit shot at being a multi-bid conference. We are not going to split our NCAA tournament money into smaller shares unless (there) is a very good chance we can make each of those shares larger. We aren't just going to add teams to add teams and we aren't going to add ANY sh*tty teams no matter how good their facilities are. Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Sing it again, brother. The additions of Eastern Illinois, Southern Illinois-Edwardsville and Chicago State would do absolutely nothing for scheduling, exposure, profile, competition or revenue. The point of this exercise is to make this a stronger league, not merely a bigger one. Here are Chicago State's vital statistics over the last four years: 2012-13 -- 7-21, RPI 320 2011-12 -- 3-25, RPI 336 2010-11 -- 4-25, RPI 339 2009-10 -- 6-22, RPI 345 How in the world does that help our conference in any way?

What happens if NKU raises their basketball budget to $2 million by 2016 and they're playing in the best mid-major basketball facility in the midwest? Think of it as a pre-emptive strike. NKU strengthens basketball, baseball and soccer - that's what matters in this conference (big emphasis on the basketball of course). Basketball in the near future, baseball and soccer today.

Ken Bothof has accepted the AD job at...NKU. They go from an interim AD from WSU to a full-time AD from GB. I wonder if they had any off-the-record chats?
Also has anyone been able to find a NKU message board?
