tj Bison
Very cool to have on on the board and appreciate the info. We have good memories of Saul Phillips over here. Congratulation on the track/field facility and arena renovation. You guys are an even more recent D 1 program in a small metro area (no offense intended) with smaller alumni base and endowments . We are a 30,000 student base with something like 100,000 alumni in the area and have NO track or field facility, play baseball in a county municipal park and basketball in a high school grade facility....cool you guys show it can be done if there is a will and support from the top of the university....lifts all boats... very cool...

Good for you guys...congrats just trying to help debunk the notion we put all our money into FB, that's far from the truth. When the new arena gets done I know the season ticket and attendance will increase, as our current facility is total garbage. even I can't stand going to the games.

thanks...can identify also with your current gym... difference is you have one on the way and we at least also have an interim alternative, the U S Cellular Arena....interestingly your gym is a contemporary of the Klotsche Center but looks a bit better...ie, ceiling high enough to accomodate a scoreboard among larger capacity and a few other things....Have been a long time season ticket holder but last year when we moved back from the U S Cellular (backwards is an understatement ) I attended one out of 15 games for that reason...just painful as it was even harder as going back after playing at U S Cell...we are hoping until we get a new arena that at least administration wises up and goes back to U S Cell in the interim before the program totally craters or at least season ticket sales and attendance.

Amazing what winning does???!! NDSU has been great in FCS football, wining national titles and people are fired up. They are also willing to give. Their basketball program has been steady as well, getting to the dance a few yrs back... I don't see them going back to the The Cell next season. I wouls like to see it but I think it is unlikely.

I see no need for a division split since the league doesn't support football. In theory, it might make sense to host the Championship at a neutral site due to a larger geographic footprint, but to Big D's point the appearance of a packed house on TV is an obvious plus. What I like about the best team hosting the championship is that it gives the Horizon League the opportunity to showcase its best team in the NCAA Tournament. Neutral sites have been a disaster for the HL Championship. Also, the league wants to reward the top finishers (and prevent 1st round exits by the regular season champion, like Butler a few years ago). The format for 12 teams, IMHO for the 1st round: top 4 teams get a bye, 5 vs 12, 6-11, 7-10, 8-9. Also, at least the top 2 teams would get a bye in the 2nd round.
