I know the record was worse then, but this has to be as bad as the Ric Cobb 3-24 year, doesn't it? I wasn't really following Milwaukee basketball at the time, so I can't say for sure. There were at least some expectations for this team this year, though. Funny you say that because I was just thinking that a few minutes ago. I was following the team and at UWM during that time ... and I agree. This team is worse than the 3-24 team. Reason being, that team was decimated by off-court issues and suspensions. I won't criticize the coaching staff for that because there's only so much you can control as a coach. And you can look at the scores, they were at least competitive in games. This team has no excuses. None. Outside of the six games missed by Gulley, none of the preferred players have missed any time with injuries. For the record, that team lost by an average of 14.0 points per game; this team is losing by an average of 15.2 points per game.

Doesn't seem right that Jeter isn't coaching a game on Groundhog Day.

Fire Jeter.... Until they do I will not be attending another game. Been to one this year. If the school don't care about winning, then I don't care about not supporting them. Jeter and the whole athletic department is a joke... They are a disgrace, and I totally embarrassed right now to wear anything UWM...

I don't have a problem wearing anything UWM or Milwaukee Panthers (we are more than Men's basketball). When people start talking men's basketball, I keep the conversation short. It's simple, we are not a good team this year. I don't know enough to discuss why. So it is a very short discussion.

I sent my email last Saturday and haven't heard from Geiger but did get a response from one of Lovell's assistants. Here is one quote from his email: It would be fair to say that many people at UWM are disappointed with the 2012-2013 record of the men’s basketball team -— especially following seasons of 20, 19 and 20 wins. But these seasons do happen, unfortunately. Now I get that he has to toe the company line but if they truly believe this, that this is just a bump in the road and we are not in full fledged death spiral mode then our entire athletic department is more clueless than we thought.

I can handle losing seasons. What I don't have patience for is the rudderless, mismanaged ship that has been the athletic department for the better part of the past 5 years (if not before that). So when one coaching position is sucking up the entire revenue stream (and getting said contract extended to boot), yeah people are going to be upset.

well as i said to my parents, this team has been boldly setting records- of the negative variety. they are going to lose more than 24 games, they are going to lose more games by doubkle digits than any other UWm team - I believe last night was 16th such loss 1 away from the record. at the end of this year jeter will have the second most wins by a Panthers coach, the way the lossses are piling up, his career record will be at or below .500

Q. Gustavson got 10 minutes of action and Kyle Kelm got 2 minutes in a blowout. What in world has happened to Kyle Kelm?

The 1997-98 UWM team put a big scare into Utah, which went on to advance to the national title game. Can you see this UWM team coming within 30 to any team that has a chance of sniffing the national title game?

Q. Gustavson got 10 minutes of action and Kyle Kelm got 2 minutes in a blowout. What in world has happened to Kyle Kelm? Many things. Most importantly, all of the coaches have said that he simply doesn't even try in practice. He doesn't work hard or run the plays full speed, his head isn't in the game, and one coach told me that Tagarelli and Q have been manhandling him in practice for almost the entire season. He doesn't even watch the game when he's on the bench and because of that, Jeter said he just has to be looking deeper down the bench to find someone who's willing to play with effort and passion

Wait. Kelm has probably forgotten more about basketball from his high school coach than he's learned about basketball in college.

If Kelm isn't trying hard, he should be taken off scholarship. If you're going to be a benchwarmer, at least be a good teammate. If we can't replace Kelm with a player with skills to warrant a scholarship next year, we should just give it to Roelke. From an outside perspective, he seems to be a better teammate than anyone on that team this year (except maybe Haggerty).

Do they happen at Gonzaga, St. Mary's, Butler, VCU, Wichita State, Creighton, Temple, Xavier, Murray State or Belmont? In reality, a down year for one of those programs is somewhere in the neighborhood of 15-13. The short answer is that it's a matter of leadership and stability.

Did you tell them that even good teams beat a quality non-con opponent once in a while!
