As much as I don't like the current coaching staff and think Jeter is definitely not a D1 coach, I still will renew. It comes down to the fact that I'm a true Panther fan and hopefully this travesty will be over soon before the program is completely destroyed. Until then, I will proceed with caution and just grin and abide each and every game.

Yeah, I enjoy college basketball and take pride in my university enough to warrant spending $99 for two season tickets, even if it's at Klotsche. However, I can totally understand not renewing at this point... I just don't have much better to do over the winter. It's not like the Brewers season overlaps with Panthers season or anything like that.

I agree, you can't beat the price and my love for Panther basketball will continue to bring me back year after year. Sometimes you have to take the bad with the good. Would it be nice to like a team with a winning record and regular appearances in the Top 25 or NCAA tourney... of course. But the fact of the matter is, I didn't go to Duke... I didn't go to Marquette... and I didn't go to Wisconsin. I went to Milwaukee. And oddly enough, I'm still proud of that. Panther games are exciting to me, regardless of our record, and I'll continue to show up because I genuinely have a good time. Even when we lose by 20 to GB.
But one thing that has changed is where I sit. I had no problem spending $240 per ticket at The Cell because I had a good seat and it was a real basketball arena (even though it might be the only place with RC Cola and Diet Rite still on tap). At the Klotsche, however, I will probably continue to do the general admission. Especially if it stays at 2 for $99. I just can't justify spending an extra $400 to have a chair in the same spot on the other side of the court. It's not like we have to fight for a good seat when there's only 1,000 people at most games.

I will be back! I hope it's at the Cell.
Tickets prices are very cheap! The spots that are $250/$225 are still cheap. I enjoy going to games. There are many things you just don't get watching on TV as you do being there in person.

Depends...trualy at a crossroads here. I have been a multiple season ticket holder since 1994.
If they move back to the cell I will renew my two and actually upgrade.
If they stay at Klotsche but there is something announced to the effect that a fund-raising campaign has begun and there are definite plans or objectives to move forward within some type of defined time frame on a new on campus faciltity I will renew and actually upgrade.
If we are back at Klotsche next year and nothing new, just same old I am done...will not renew at all.
All this is regardless of team record and who is coach. In other words I can stomach losing records and a lackluster coach but can not stomach spending money and time attending games in a high school facility that is an embarassement and not worthy of our program. That is where I have principles after how much I have cared for and supported this program over the years, the wonderful times and success we hit and to go back to this with no plan is just too much to stomach.

Probably baseball if I am not totally fed lup with UWm Athletic department and we have a really good A D brought on board.....t

Mu Panther You know I actually will this afternoon. I will send it to Chancellor Lovell actually as maybe that will do more good that way. Certainly not going to send it to Geiger who made the move on a dime after the season and to my knowledge did not really solicit any opinion from the customers at least the alumni and season ticket holders but came in and made a drastic move based on limited knowledge and experience of what has occurred historially here over the years. We paid him $200,000 for one year for this...put a bunch of good money after bad with the crappy cheesy video boards and lipstick on the KC pig but I digress...yes I will send an e mail to Mike Lovell. All this would be palatable in the short term if there was frickin plan but the plan now is to abandon the plan and no one knows what the heck is going on . Oh yeah, as some have posted on this board what right to we have to expect that? They do not owe us that, they work behind the scenes and what right do we have to know Unbelievalbe....

I don't understand why the school is so worried about students who don't pay to go to games, than the paying customers.

Oh yeah, as some have posted on this board what right to we have to expect that? They do not owe us that, they work behind the scenes and what right do we have to know Unbelievalbe.... Send him an email. I think I will too in the next few days. I hope that several die-hard fans (what few we have left) will do so as well. I can't watch this team live anymore (I still listen via radio and watch via the HLN- I guess my season tickets were just a $175 donation to the Ath. Dept). They do not care about winning. They care about partying and enjoying their free ride. That's all well and good when you are at the very least- competing. But this team is not. Milwaukee Basketball has morphed into the Washington Generals. And kingsteve is right (as are others who have finally voiced dismay over this craptastic excuse for an ADept that keeps on dangling promises of a "shiny new on-campus arena" only to leave us holding a bag of dog dung. At some point- something's gotta give. We ought to buy the Cell (UWM seems to have no problem expanding it's academic footprint- what is 10 million compared to the 80 some million we have pledged for academic/research projects?). Until the powers that be realize that school pride and building on what was once, very recently a pretty darn (relatively speaking) awesome men's basketball program are actually "important matters"- we will continue to sink and continue to stink (and be the butt of jokes in Milwaukee sports circles). It's a shame. I won't renew my season tickets. I won't throw a dime to Milwaukee Athletics until a plan is in place. It's really sad how we have been relegated to the laughing stock of Milwaukee sports banter. Thanks Geiger. Thanks Lovell. Thanks Jeter. A couple more blowouts and we'll have no fan base to speak of. This has gotten completely out of hand and someone needs to man the heck up. New area (extremely doubtful). Or buy the Cell. But-but- we have plans to build a new baseball stadium!! (yay!!!!!). I'll bet you a diddly eyed Joe to a damned if I know that even that seemingly positive development- WON'T HAPPEN. The inmates are running the asylum. (and I would know- it takes on to know one). This is bannanas (in a bad way) and someone needs to take responsibilty and right this ship. That is.. if the ship is even still afloat (I think it sunk somewhere off the coast of Mexico). Hope the vacay was awesome Panthers!!!! You guys make us sooooooooo PROUD!!!! [not]. I never thought I would type words like these and have such disappointment in my team. But it has finally come to that. We are an embarrassment. Our stats are literally at the cellar of all D-I programs. I wish there was light at the end of this dark tunnel (and maybe there is)- but I see nothing but apathy and a miserable team that we can't even count on to compete and lose by less than 10 points game in, game out. I'm fed up and I know I'm not alone. Thanks for nothing Geiger! But yeah- go ahead with the baseball stadium. I'm sure that will bring UWM to prominence again. Get with the program. Men's Hoops is Milwaukee's flagship. And it may be sunk, but it's all we have in terms of athletic respectability (that and maybe men's and women's soccer). Ignore this blaring alarm of a problem at your own peril. If this continues- we will never again see the kind of Panther teams that made us excited to get through the work day and see play. See teams that repp'd the Black and Gold and were proud to do so. This team looks like they are happy to party on the weekends and phone it in on gameday. And the saddest part is.... I almost don't even blame their train of thought. The buck stops- where?

Send him an email. I think I will too in the next few days. I hope that several die-hard fans (what few we have left) will do so as well. On Saturday I sent my very cordial yet very direct emails to Mr. Geiger and Mr. Lovell regarding the state of our athletic department and, more specifically, the state of our men's basketball program. Hopefully I'll at least get a response. I know they are busy guys. If anything I felt better having done so!

I'll send an email as well. I'd like chancellor Lovell know how excited a lot of people in this fan base were when he was hired, because he was supposed to "get it" as far as Panthers basketball is concerned. Men's basketball may not be on his radar, but it needs to be. Basketball probably isn't that important to the university in the grand scheme of things, but maybe it could be.
I don't know anything about Geiger. Only that he supports men's baseball, which I guess is a good thing.

Put me down as much more concerned about the product on the floor than the venue in which we play.
Almost certainly, there will be those who make a direct correlation between the two.
Still, realizing that success may be attainable but not sustainable in the current landscape and that there may be new challenges in recruiting, the fact of the matter is that we have enjoyed terrific seasons playing out of the Klotsche in 1992-93, 02-03 and 03-04.
Remember that Clay Tucker, Ronnie Jones, Danny Weiss, Jason Frederick, Dylan Page, Chris Hill, Adrian Tigert, Joah Tucker, Ed McCants and Boo Davis were all recruited to play at the KC.
