I'm shocked how the direction and hype for this program is more focused on off the court agendas then future games. That pretty much sums up the direction and excitement for this bball program. That's definitely moving into danger land, as far as die-hard fans are concerned. We, I'm guilty as the next guy, bash and insult this team more then we anticipate the next game. Not healthy as a U dubb fan as far as I'm concerned.

Cleveland St. -1 ......Hippy's basketball game of the year. Call Hippy at 1-8oo-FIR-EROB for the winner or the rest of this awful season is free! Hippy is 9-0 vs. the spread on UWM games. His inside information is far above Jimmy's. Don't miss out , call now!

Well, birthdays are merely symbolic of how another year has gone by and how little we've grown. No matter how desperate we are that someday a better self will emerge, with each flicker of the candles on the cake, we know it's not to be, that for the rest of our sad, wretched pathetic lives, this is who we are to the bitter end. Inevitably, irrevocably; happy birthday? No such thing.

It's one method of coping with this debacle. Here's what concerns me most, and it's not this season. It's the TREND that I find most disturbing. This season seems to compare to the 1995-96 season, where we went 9-18 and averaged 1,990 fans. While I don't see us winning 9 games this year, we are averaging 2,303 fans right now. In 1996-97, the team went 8-20, and averaged just 1,234 fans. In 1997-98, the team went 3-24, and averaged an abyssmal 908 fans. I don't have high prospects for next season, and expect a significant drop in attendance. This does not bode well from a financial or marketing standpoint.

I am concerned that going back to the KC combined with the team performance not to mention looking ahead at what roster will look like next year and in-coming recruits does not look like NCAA bid anytime soon ...has put this program in a death spiral.....could handle the off year if that is what it is but going back to the KC was a HORRIBLE and short sighted decision. We hear about the financial problems but paying Geiger $200,000 for what??? This has been his biggest legacy so far and it is horribly tone deaf...the KC is sustainable only if understood as a temporary measure with definite plans to either build or go back downtown. Another year or two of this scenario and we might as well get ready to go D 2

The bigger problem is where the team's record is at right now, then where the Panthers are playing their home games.

The bigger problem is where the team's record is at right now, then where the Panthers are playing their home games. Couldn't. Agree. More. Wins and losses are the bigger issue, IMHO. When we were at the Klotsche under Bo and BP, and were winning, the place had an electric atmosphere and there was a tremendous homecourt advantage. No, I'm not suggesting the KC is a permanent home. My point is that winning results in fans, not the place you play. For example, the Brewers had projected that Miller Park would sell out for 3 years, because of it being new. The team was pathetic. The first year, because of it being new, the Brewers drew over 2.8 million fans. The team was 68-94. In year 2, they drew under 2 million fans. In arguably the best ballpark in baseball. The team was 56-106. In year 3, they drew 1.7 million fans and went 68-94. In 1998-99, Ric Cobb's last year, the team went 8-19 and drew 1,486 fans per game. In 1999-2000, Bo Ryan's first year, the team went 15-14 and drew 2,454 fans (playing in the KC). In 2000-01, Bo's second year, the team went 15-13 and drew 2,954 fans (playing in the KC). In 2001-02, BP's first year, the team went 16-13 and drew 3,226 fans (playing in the KC). In 2002-03, BP's second year, and our first NCAA appearance, the team went 24-8 and drew 4,266 fans (playing in the KC). The "build it and they will come" theory does not generally work in sports, and has been proven to not work in Milwaukee. The KC is not the problem. Winning leads to crowds, not where you play. We do not have a formula for winning right now. Without it, it won't matter where we play.

Another 0-fer at the first media timeout. The good news? Cleveland State only has 3.

Up 20.
Can't believe how well this game has gone. I keep thinking this is going to be like previous games where we lead at half and blow it but I think we'll be able to hold on in this one.
