Last night was one of the most impressive defensive performances by a Jeter coached team. Bobo Niang is a better defender than Ryan Allen. When Bobo mans up on you he's lights out. And a steal artist too.

We better get some love in Jimmy's Power Poll. No more of this 6th place business... Still waiting on a couple voters but right now it looks like they're going to land in about 4th.

And a steal artist too. -1 I'm not saying Bobo is not a good defender but I'm going to have to see a few jaw-dropping run-down-a-fast-break-from-the-length-of-the-floor-and-and-cleanly-block-a-dunk-from-above plays before I put him in Ryan Allen's class. The team defense was very good.

Where are all of the "Fire Rob Jeter" WHACKOES today? I would expect them to return sometime right before Christmas, or not at all this season if Jeter and his bunch give us a present for the ages and rock the Kohl Center.

The team defense was very good. Completely agree. Ryan was a superior defender than Bobo for several reasons. That's not to say Bobo is a slouch. He's easily the best defender on the team in my opinion, but he's no Ryan Allen. I don't judge a defender based on his steal totals because there are so many poor defenders with a high steal total, but Bobo does have the quickest hands I've seen for a Panther.

Where are all of the "Fire Rob Jeter" WHACKOES today? I think all of you Turkeys, out there, are equally responsible for this collapse. IF he had job offers from Bradley, Dayton and Penn State he SHOULD HAVE TAKEN THEM, and left Bidz in Charge. OK, raise your hands out there who wanted him to stay and said this was the year. Jeter would not be the first Mid major coach to stay when he had an opportunity to leave and made a mistake in staying. Fire Jeter and Bring back Bidz!!!

Great game, glad I ran into Ghostofdylan earlier in the day who pretty much persuaded me to change my plans and head down last night. Excellent. Glad you could make it. Best value dollar-for-dollar in the city.

The mere fact that Rob and Chad and the staff went out and brought in a guy that we can mention in the same breath with Ryan defensively is a tremendous credit to them. I think we all saw on Saturday that this team has the ability to defend, and a big part of that is what Bobo and Jordan bring to that side of the ball.

Where are all of the "Fire Rob Jeter" WHACKOES today? Right here. One win doesn't trump years of being a terrible coach.

I will first say I was not at the game Saturday, had other things going on.....more then glad that we got the win, and a big win at that and we were able to hit free throws, another big bonus and huge +, but i do still have a few worries looking at the box score...one would be that out of a total of 40 minutes JO & Bobo had 3 and 7 mins of rest during the game a piece. that is way too little IMO....I do not in anyway think we can keep letting these 2 play so many minutes since it is obvious they are the driving force of the team this year.
I don't have an answer on how to fix it but this is another thing that has been seen before too, new comers start out playing so great that they get a ton of early season minutes and then become shells of themselves in the final 2 months of the season, it happened to Kaylon and Ryan both the last 2 years IMO, and I just do not think we can keep that up with this team. Now yes Paris is out and will be back and the minutes will hopefully reduce to save some in the tank for the conference season but I do worry that these two are getting a few to many minutes early in the year in their first seasons at the D1 level.
call me a nit picker or whatever else you want but this is a real worry and it is one that can be controlled, unlike our free throw issues, which is apparently always something touched on in practice but rarely seen results in the game.
Now with that all said, this was huge win, and it should be celebrated as much by all of us fans, but I also think we need to keep things realistic, let this win give us confidence but don't let it go to our heads either, we are not in a position to let that happen at all in the league we are in this year. I want us to be back in the dance come March just as much as everyone else here does, but we have to be smart about this, college basketball isn't a sprint the way college football kind of is, this is a complex type of game to make sure you are getting the best performance the most often from your players. But yes please everyone enjoy this win over a very quality team in Davidson, and i think this does show that on campus game with a home court advantage is a VERY good thing, and not a hindrance like some thought it would be.

I think the answer is a healthy Paris Gulley. You're 100% right though. This is a concern to me as well. We don't have any guard depth. It's a big reason why we've seen such unorthodox lineups this season, the most odd being JO, Hags, Harris, Kelm and Haarsma. It's clear Rob isn't comfortable with Evan playing significant minutes yet.
