Very awesome game and great crowd at the KC tonight! If SportsTracker is to be believed, 3,031 in attendance. Keep in mind, attendance is always paid crowd.

The Davidson message board is hilarious! No credit given to any of our players, they consider Jordan Aaron a midget, they said we won't even finish above .500 in league play this year, they say we're a garbage team that they shouldn't have ever lost to, and on and on and on.
I also love that the Horizon League spent more time worrying about and mentioning the Green Bay loss at Nevada on social media formats than the Panthers win.
Also, was this really a Horizon League crew officiating the game tonight? If so, this was bad even for Horizon League standards. No team should be in the double bonus less than 9 minutes into the second half. They let them play the first 3 minutes and then the whistles were non stop the rest of the game.
Anyway, good win! Solid resume builder for an at large bid (though it's a slim possibility, I know). 2-1 and could and should very well be 3-0. I'll take that. No time to falter against UALR now. Must build off of this win and keep rolling through Thanksgiving.

Pretty much zero credit given to Milwaukee on the Davidson message board. Reminds me of Butler fans. For a team that would have been blown out in the last 4+ minutes if it weren't for the refs putting them at the line EVERY possession, they sure think they are god's gift to mid-majors. Regardless, I like the matchup between the two teams. Looking forward to taking them on again next year at their place.

Do the Panthers win this game if it was at the Cell?

Wow, what a phenomenal college basketball game! J.O. resembles Chaz Williams of UMass, who plays today on ESPNU at 3 p.m.
By at least three publications -- Athlon, Lindy's and Sports Illustrated -- Davidson is projected between No. 49 and No. 52 nationally, so it wouldn't be a stretch to say that we beat a top 50 team last night.

They said we won't even finish above .500 in league play this year. Then let's switch places with them. They move to the H League for one year and we get to play Western Carolina, Appalachian State, UNC Greensboro, Elon and home-and-homes with Furman and The Citadel.

As noted in some post-game celebrations last night, the team has visibly improved in every game.
A few individual notes. First, Ryan Haggerty has answered the bell. You want to see seniors step up, and Ryan has done it. How many teams have an athletic 6'8 wing man who can come off the bench to play harassing defense and also hit the three at critical moments? He's kind of a cross between Jason McCoy and Justin Letenberger. To me he is the ultimate "program guy" and I mean that as a high compliment.
It was absolutely great to see Demetrius hit some critical feee throws. Jimmy mentioned to me last night that he has told Mete that if he hits his throws the other guys can't play Hack-a-Shaq on him -- and if they can't, Demetrius can do a lot of damage. Defensively as well. It was a huge play when he hustled back and blocked that shot seemingly out of nowhere, and that game-sealing rebound at the end was unreal.
Bobo needs to get under control a little bit more but the energy and strength he brings to that position has absolutely changed our game. Just imagine how tough we will be at guard when Paris is back and when Evan steps it up.
And speaking of guard, Jordan Aaron may end up being the most exciting player at Milwaukee since Clay Tucker.
Finally, Kyle has been slowly working himself out of a late summer funk. Last night he may have turned the corner. Big play after big play. That was great to see.
I have a very good feeling about this team.

They certainly played well last night. It does prove what we keep saying...free throws are extremely important. If they had shot free throws the way they shot against South Carolina, they would've lost.
If they play consistently the way they played last night, they will win a lot of games. Time will tell if they can or not.

Astonishingly, the Panthers only had 4 assists all game. By comparison, they had 7 steals.

JO is the best JUCO transfer at Milwaukee since Boo Davis.
Last night was one of the most impressive defensive performances by a Jeter coached team. It was hard for Davidson to get any kind of look at the basket. Great game, glad I ran into Ghostofdylan earlier in the day who pretty much persuaded me to change my plans and head down last night.

We better get some love in Jimmy's Power Poll. No more of this 6th place business...

Was at the game last night, and it was a great game. This squad looks very solid. And, I must say that being back on campus was pretty cool. I had my doubts about it, but it was loud and people seemed happy to be back there. Went with my buds dad's season tickets. I am hoping that they continue to improve, and make this a great year. If we can beat a program like Davidson, I see no reason why they should not compete for a Horizon league title. I guess all we can do is enjoy the ride.
