I know people want to shrug this off as not being a big deal. Yea we probably were a long shot to get an at-large this season. That being said, winning is contagious and losing is contagious, and never is that more apparent than with the Rob Jeter era panthers. This was a big game, no debating that, and we blew it in the most frustrating fashion possible.
If we can't hold onto a big lead against that team, who can we put away? Mary college? It can be very frustrating at times being a Milwaukee Panther fan.

The fact that we are this bad at FTs and Jeter is still expecting his players to work on them on their own is a joke. Line them up every practice, guy steps up to the line, misses everyone does a suicide, makes fest one misses second one, everyone does down and back. Make both go to next guy. Do that every single practice. I have seen teams improve in FT% by 20 percent in 3 weeks. Players can't be left to work on things on their own if there aren't improvements. And nothing is better motivation than not wanting ur teammates to have to run because of you.

Lutz, I've had conversations with Chip numerous times. Every single time I bring that up with him, its always a response along the lines of: "What do you think we are doing EVERY SINGLE PRACTICE??"
This stuff is a bunch of mental messes, not physical...

Positives taken away from this game:
-Jordan Aaron is a complete stud. The guy can ball. -Bobo Niang is such a complete guard. His defense is stellar, his leadership second to none, and his ball handling is fantastic. -Austin Arians is such a good player. The kid plays like a senior with his intelligence and ability to make that extra pass. -Ryan Haggerty had a good game. He does all the little things. -This was the first (real) game. Plenty of room to improve as a team.
Negatives: -Played the last 5 minutes not to lose. Settled for 3's 30 seconds into the shot clock. -Same old story . Consistently out played to open the 2nd half. -Free throws. -Demetrius Harris is a solid rotational post player. He's a starting wing. -South Carolina isn't very good. We're not expected to make the tournament. Games like this show why we wouldn't win even if we made it to one.

Tough loss. Dumber posters. November 11th and he is already name calling! He's been satisfied with mediocrity for years. The problem is we're heading to a point where Fran and about 10 students will be the only ones watching games in the future. The fact that there's so few people on this board after today's game relative to previous years is an indication of lack of interest. Unfortunately, we're heading down a slippery slope.

Tough loss. South Carolina will be better than most think with Frank Martin.

I just joined, so I plan on checking out a few more games before I start making any comments. I'd like to get a better feel for the team first. If the games have been brought back to the Klotsche to improve student attendance, we certainly don't need people falling off the fan board! That's not very encouraging! Fans are in it through thick and thin! Like until death do us part!

We certainly gave this game away, but that's a hell of a lot better than getting blown out. We took a BCS team into overtime on the road, and while it's not ideal its better than a host of other losing scenarios. We lost our second (actual) game on mental mistakes, those can be improved and we have a lot of season to make those improvements. I'm not discouraged in the slightest in what I saw tonight considering that we are projected to finish middle of the pack in the horizon.
I realize free throws will be another hot item this season, but its all about who is taking our free throws. Since D. Harris seems to get to the FT line the most, and is also our worst FT shooter by far, that doesn't bode well for our team FT percentage. It's likely he will carry a large weighting in that calculation so I would advise this board to get used to a poor FT average as a team.
If this is the level of play we can expect from our guards all year round, then we will do better than most expect. For the first 30 minutes of the game Jordan Aaron played like Kaylon Anderson but better, packing a stroke like Ed McCants. The problem was for the last 15 minutes he played like Avery Smith and was trying to win the game solo. Bobo Niang is a toolbox, there isn't a thing he can't do.
I'm upset over how we lost, but I'm still optimistic about the rest of the season.
WAR PANTHERS!!!!!

Taking a quick leave of my senses. Wanna know how bad its gotten? For about 6 years I didn't miss a game. Went on road trips to away games. Was AT the game when we beat Boston college. Danced at the center court at us cell more than once. I didn't even know uwm played today. I don't even look at this board more than once a month or so. Change has to happen before the alumni like me give a rats a$$ again.
