I don't like to get into pissing matches, so I'll keep it brief.

At Green Bay, an appearance in the CBI causes optimism and celebration among its fans.

At Milwaukee, an appearance in the CBI causes a large sect of the fan base to call for the head coach to be fired.

There's a big difference in expectations, which are a better measure of a program than most things.

Dudes...the guy's user name is "GB BB is Back." Anything he posts is going to have a pro-GB spin. Recognizing that fact allows the reader to measure an appropriately-sized grain of salt to take with whatever he says.

i do find his felt need to downgrade Milwaukee basketball in his quest to boost Green Bay basketball to be at times annoying, but mostly it comes across to me as a bit pathetic.

And i'll agree that GB BB is back when they've won some titles and tournament bids.

A large sect of Green Bay fans weren't the least bit excited about making the CBI either time. They did change their tune quickly when Green Bay won in the CBI. I'm guessing Milwaukee fans would change their tune after a CBI win too. Obviously that tourney is not the goal, but it could provide some momentum for a young team. I don't care at all for the CIT.

Expectations in Green Bay have always been extremely high, that comes with a program the has had RPIs in the 70s or better with every coach it's had at the D1 level until Wardle. Wardle will be expected to do the same, and dance, very soon. I'm fully confident he will, but I won't go into detail about that on your site. Mike Heideman had the same winning % in his 7 years as Rob Jeter does after 7 years, and Heideman was fired. Green Bay expects to win, and win big.

Heidemans winning percentage is high because he inherited a very good team and went 25-4 his first year. His winning percent is close to Jeters BUT it is pretty much the same as Kowalczyk as well and you didn't fire him. We get that you don't like Jeter but you should at least look at the numbers before commenting.

Also want to add if you don't count Heideman or Jeters 1st year that Rob still has a record over .500 where Heideman does not.

Iinteresting that you claim you looked at the numbers, yet your numbers are filled with mistakes. Kowalczyk finished tied for 6th in the same year Jeter finished tied for 4th, with the same record? That didn't happen, both tied for 4th. Where's Heidemans NCAA tournament appearance?

Also, where did I write Jeter should be fired right now? I only compared Heideman and Jeters winning % to show the high expectations at Green Bay that it was suggested we supposedly didn't have.

Yes, all 3 have almost identical career numbers, the difference being Heideman and Jeter took over gold mines, and Kowalczyk took over a last place team. I'm surprised you missed that when you were dissecting the numbers.

Sorry if I seem biligerent, this is in interesting conversation about the direction and expectations of your program, and how it compares to others. Jeters numbers are identical to a coach who was fired and to a coach Milwaukee fans called PMCK. Jeter doesn't have as much downward trajectory as Heideman did.

None of that really matters though, its the direction Jeters program goes this year, and the crowd support that direction garners, that will decide his fate. That is, if Milwaukee can afford to make a change. Green Bay had to wait a year longer than it should have to make a move with Heideman for similar finacial reasons.
