www.hoopsrumors.com/2012/09/bulls-rumors-pargo-white-allen-gibson.htmlRyan Allen has been working out at the Bulls facility for voluntary tryouts. He may have a chance to make the camp roster. Can't hurt your chances to make the roster when your best friend is Derrick Rose. I hope they give Ryan a chance to stick as a defensive stopper that the Bulls always look for from a 2 guard a la Keith Bogans from 2 years ago or Ronnie Brewer last year.

In all likelihood, Ryan will have to spend time overseas. And he still may never make it, because at 6'3'' he's too short to be a 2-guard defender like his brother.

Nope Never underestimate the influence of a superstar basketball player over his franchise. What are you saying nope to? He's just a training camp body for them.

And you're just being a Negative Nancy to us. Do you say YES to anything? Provide some damn support nohopspanther. I haven't seen an iota since you've been on this board. Just negative ("F-Jeter, F-The AD, F-The Milwaukee Panthers if they don't fit my suit").
What gives? I know you care about this program but you must understand that 2005 was... well 2005.
GO PANTHERS!!!!

nohops is right, being signed to the training camp roster is hardly proof that Allen won't have to go overseas

Because of course, our Native Son Ryan Allen making an NBA-League roster is "such a trifle". GTFO. I hate to squabble with my fellow Panthers, but c'mon now..
2005 was 2005.
Stop acting like we are friggin' Kentucky.
"Thanks for your so-called 'support' man. I hope all of those those dunks defensive stops, and blocks and points I scored for free for YOUR entertainment were enjoyable... Oh, think I can't make an NBA D-League Roster? Thanks again, for your support and all that. it means a lot". -Ryan Allen
Always a Panther. Milwaukee Panthers. Support our Panthers.

I think most are well aware that there is a huge difference between being added to the training camp roster and being signed to a contract with the team but you never know what could happen in training camp. Maybe it will be a reverse of the Shannon Smith situation with the Pacers. Ryan still has a large hill to climb to make the roster but anything could happen.

I'm sorry if I misunderstood some people talking about Ryan Allen playing NBA D-League vs. Ryan Allen playing overseas, but the "He's just a training camp body for them." , sticks in my craw. Does anyone think that Ryan thinks he is "just a training camp body to 'them'"? Talk about treating our honorable alum like a Tops trading card. I ain't gonna let that stand, sorry man. I appreciate Everything Ryan Allen did here in Milwaukee. I wish he was still here and wish him the best in his future basketball and otherwise post-collegiate career(s). Call me crazy, but was I the only Panther viewer to notice on TWC32 when Daron Sutton interviewed him in the 2012 postseason? When asked about post-collegiate "basketball" opportunities, Ryan said- emphatically- more than once- "I am happy to have completed my degree and gotten my college education. That's what's important to me". (something very much along those lines- look up the video if you don't believe me). This is a talented and confident Panther Hooper that deserves our support after his 2 years here- not our armchair coaching jabs and second guessing (I hope he plays in the NBA- no joke). I wish him the best (though he won't need it)- whether in basketball, or whatever other pursuit of life he can alley-oop slam in haters' faces.

Some people just have to find a negative in a situation. They can't just leave it alone. It doesn't matter if he is a body or a legitimate contender for a spot. Whatever he is he made it onto the camp roster. That is awesome. Why people have to downgrade that when there comment has no effect on anything is just pessimistic garbage. I get that he COULD be just a body. but he ALSO could have a chance otherwise. Just because you think the odds are one way or another, why bring everyone elses enthusiasm and joy over a fellow panther's success down. Lets celebrate our accomplishments not what we have yet to accomplish.

He's part of Derrick Rose's entourage and since he has no deal to play overseas is exactly the type of practice player brought in to make guys work hard. I will not ignore the reality of the situation simply because Ryan played here, but that's exactly what some of you want to do 24/7.
