I recall going to a game against Northern Iowa in 07-08 season. Northern Iowa had a good team but there was a small crowd that day. As much as I like the Cell I couldn't help but thinking if crammed the fans into the KC that it would be loud. I had good seats that day and I could hear the shoes squeak.
I am excited to see the changes that the department is making to KC a better venue for hoops.

It makes sense to try and do something to get the students more engaged, and if this move actually does that then it could be great for the school in the long run. In my opinion, history shows that this move and really nothing other than being in the NCAA tournament will ever really ignite the UWM student fan.
This is a step back any way you look at it, and considering the enrollment numbers at UWM the savings of $220,000 or $330,000 or whatever it is, seems almost laughable.
My fingers are crossed, but I do not expect to see (on Horizon League tv) the student sections filled any time soon.
Still a fan! - for now.

I recall going to a game against Northern Iowa in 06-07 season. Northern Iowa had a good team but there was a small crowd that day. The Panthers went directly up against the Packers (2 p.m. tip vs. noon kickoff) that day. That's the formula for a minuscule crowd.

I guess I don't remember that it was head to head vs. the Packers which is going to hurt attendance. But its not like that was the only game I've been to where the Cell has been dead, it was just the game that stuck out the most to me. I do recall that Torre Johnson had a hell of a game that day and shortly after that he was off of the team.
