Interesting that the only the location of the cell got over 3 stars. Everything else he rates as 3 or 2 stars. Pretty good assessment of the Cell and what it offers though.

Based on last year (meaning no changes to the K) Food & Beverage: 1 star -- Basic with very little choice and long lines. Atmosphere: 1.5 stars -- The UIC game was excellent, but the other games I've been to were just quiet, the added intimacy didn't help. Neighborhood: 3 stars -- A pretty typical college campus, with North Ave a short drive away for pre- and post-game festivities Fans: 3 stars -- Pretty much the same fans as at the Cell. Can be great for bigger games, but we can also be deafeningly quiet for a Thursday evening against Wright State or Youngstown State. Access: 3.5 stars -- An affordable parking garage in the same concourse and multiple major streets around make the K easy to get to. Of course, bigger games will cause parking issues and the K is nestled inside campus. ROI: 3 stars -- Tickets have always been very affordable at Klotsche. You get what you pay for, of course, but no one is priced out. Extras: 1 star -- Uh.....well, that dance team he mentioned is back.
Overall that comes to 2.3

The experience of actually watching a basketball game at the Cell is outstanding. Every view is great, the lighting is nice, the videoboard is good, it's not cramped.
The Klotsche has a low ceiling that makes it look like less than a high school gym, the bleachers are uncomfortable and ugly, there is NO videoboard -- so say goodbye to our nice intro video with all that cool lighting -- there are no alcohol sales, the food is worse than terrible.
But it saves us hundreds of thousands of dollars.
So it's a push.

I think you guys are shooting for the stars with your desire for a videoboard or Jumbotron.
All I'd like is a scoreboard -- even the manually-operated kind -- that tracks player scoring and fouls.
Honestly, let's just start with a fresh coat of paint, new banners and chairbacks on both sides.

My 12 yr old son suggested a Kids Zone. He would like to see hoops in one of the ends of the KC that are empty, a place for kids to shoot some hoops at those moments when kids can't sit still in their seats.
He also said the KC needs improved concessions, I agree.
