I for one am glad they are back on campus. To move this program forward it is necessary to move back to the KC. This will allow us to build a great on campus facility to meet the needs for basketball as well as other campus events.

Two questions I'll have for now.
Can I purchase a parking pass with my season tickets for guaranteed parking in the PAV?
What will the cost be for season seats...

Reading the JS online article and Franklyn Gimbel sounds like a baby. It seems the Wisconsin Center District has screwed us over for years favoring the damn circus over Milwaukee Basketball and now he is crying because we didn't give him the opportunity for discussion regarding the move?

He knows that the WCD and the Cell are in big trouble without the Panthers as tenants.

Assuming they're putting forth a concrete plan to build a new arena in the area of 7000 seats, then I'm fine with this. But this HAS to be temporary. It's interesting, to say the least.
What's the capacity at the KC again?

Ignore my previous question. Just found it in the article.

I agree with Lou's statements, too.
Let's hope this is very temporary.

My girlfriend and I are both Marquette grads, and she now attends UWM for graduate school. We were planning on purchasing UWM season tickets becuase going downtown for dinner and a sporting event is always fun, even if we miss some. We will not be purchasing to go to the Klotsche center, as my high school gym was roughly the same size.
I am afriad that with the basketball product not being very good right now, that there will be even less incentive to go to games. This is starting to show with the memebers of this forum backing out of their season ticket holders. I am sure that there are others like me out there.
If the school is just using the prospect of a new arena as a way to gather support for this cost saving move, without a true plan to invest in a new arena, the school should be ashamed. This leaves them with the worst practice facilities as well as the worst game day facility in the country, excluding some very small D1 schools.
If the plan is for the klotsche center long term, UWM would be better served scrapping its athletics program and focusing on its wonderful grad programs and improving its undergraduate reputation.

Let's hope this is VERY TEMPORARY. Edited to get the point across. I really hate watching games at KC. It'll be interesting to see what the ticket packages are...

I understand your argument against the convenience of heading downtown, but what does the size of the arena have to do with supporting your team? I only say this because this is supposed to be a temporary move. If it's permanent, then it's game over.

More thoughts.
1. If we can't routinely sell out the KC, then the fundraising and argument for a new facility is lost.
2. This puts a lot of pressure on Coach Jeter. We have to win. No wins leads to #1 and further proves irrelevancy to alumni and students.
3. If this isn't temporary then we should consider stepping back to D2 or D3.

I get why they are doing this from a financial aspect. However, I really think this hurts the look and feel of the program from a recruiting aspect. Lets be honest, the KC totally sucks.... It is a total craphole. Only thing now is to win win win and generate interest again. This verifies how bad of shape the Athletic Dept truly is in.
