Makes sense to me, but that doesn't explain why they'd regularly schedule Green Bay. They haven't shown to be a legitimate threat to win the league in over 15 years.
With Butler leaving, the only remaining team with a better record in Horizon League play is Valpo. Sure, that history won't matter much, what the team will be going forward will matter more. Green Bay just had a sophomore named 1st team all-conference, and had freshman on the all-newcomer team in back to back years. (who was the last Milwaukee freshman on the all-new-comer team?)
The team returns the 5 players that started when it won 8 of its last 11, including a 12 point win over Butler and a 15 point win over HL Champ Valpo. The team adds Jordan Fouse (ESPN grade 88) and Cole Stefan (ESPN grade 90). The will have just 1 senior next year, and his replacement will practice all season as a RS after averaging 10 pppg and 7 rbg with 57 FG% as a sophomore at EIU.
I'm sure if tough to admit, but while your program is stuck going nowhere, Green Bay has built its best team since winning a NCAA at-large birth during Jeff Nordgaard's senior year when this conference was the MCC, and Butler was still a nobody.
