Before you read this post, let me just say that it is in no way meant to cut down Coach Jeter and his staff. The following is just a study on the number of players that exhausted their full eligibility without leaving the team early. As it stands today, 14 of the 30 (46.7%) full time 1 scholarship athletes used up their entire eligibility. Kaylon Anderson graduated early and chose not to use his senior year of eligibility. Sam Mauldin stayed on scholarship for his senior year but quit the team due to injury. 3/15 (20%) of Prep Recruits used their full eligibility 2. 11/15 (73%) of Transfers used their full eligibility. Four additional players could hypothetically be added to the list of graduated athletes following the 2012-2013 season. (Ryan Haggerty, James Haarsma, Paris Gulley, and Demetrius Harris) The study also shows the balance between transfers and prep players Coach Jeter and staff bring into the program. Other current or incoming athletes on pace to be eligible for this list are Kyle Kelm, Evan Richard, J.J. Panoske, Jordan Aaron, Steve McWhorter, Austin Arians, and Donald Thomas. 1A full time scholarship athlete would be defined as someone expected to earn at least 66% of their education paid for. This accounts for 4-for-5 and 2-for-3 "deals". 2Brad Carroll didn't receive a scholarship his first season. He was set to receive a scholarship following that redshirt year.

Shouldn't Jason Deutchman and Joe Allen be on this list as well?

Shouldn't Jason Deutchman and Joe Allen be on this list as well? They were not on scholarship... Deutchman was a walk-on and Joe Allen was on the team via his G.I. Bill.

And Patrick Souter, Jason Averkamp, etc. etc.
That's why I didn't include walk-ons. The percentages would be even worse if that were the case. Walk-ons are like a box of chocolates.

Didn't realize Burleigh graduated. Good for him.

Didn't realize Burleigh graduated. Good for him. It's not about graduation. It's about exhausting your eligibility. If it were about graduating, Kaylan Anderson, Sam Mauldin, etc. would be on the plus side. Admittedly, my headings are misleading.

the thing that sticks out the most to me is that 2 prep players (out of 3) that were from WI stayed the duration of their careers...while only 1 from outside of WI (of 11) did
while I certainly didn't agree with an earlier assertion that we need to recruit WI players "because people want to root for hometown kids"...it's definitely a lot harder for them to leave because they're homesick

He didn't qualify as a full-time scholarship player....
