Panthers still about 4 gms shy of a complete slate Wouldn't those be the four games in a Gazelle Group-sponsored event? Either way, special thanks go out to the league presidents and commissioner.

So long as Butler's out of the way, we can go about the business of moving this conference forward.

Well I found this while searching info on the event - www.missouristatebears.com/sports/m-baskbl/spec-rel/071312aac.htmlAccording to the Missouri State site, it looks like the Panthers are at South Carolina on November 11th and at Arkansas-Little Rock on November 19th. The games at Puerto Vallarta take place on November 24th against Alcorn State and then face either Jacksonville or Rider on November 25th.

Hopefully we can come out like a house of fire against them again. Might have been the best Panther performance I've seen since attending UWM.

Add a partner game with Fairfield, another Valley road game and the requisite games against Concordia St. Paul and Upper Iowa and I think you have our schedule for the coming year.
Three (or four) BCS teams, one or two from the Valley, a Sun Belt team, a MAAC member and a couple of MAC schools. All things considered, not bad.

And I think the game at South Carolina might be Frank Martin's regular season home debut at South Carolina so what better way to kick things off than by beating the Gamec***s at their home.

Is the Bracketbuster game, a home game again this season? I sure hope so, since the Panthers are lacking D1 home games. (Buffalo & Northern Illinois)

"The (A-10) wasn't about to waste an opportunity of having a record amount of bids, even if one of them is from a departing member. And so what if it is? Temple will still be representing the A-10, not the Big East, if it earns a bid."
Outstanding article!

That is an extremely ignorant article by Katz. As much as we don't like to admit it, college basketball is run by the almighty dollar. Every move that Katz talks about was made for financial reasons.
The A-10 didn't ban Temple from the conferences auto birth because that would force Temple to leave early, which would cost the A-10 NCAA tourney dollars. Temple won't cost another A-10 team a tournament birth, they'll get multiple at-large births. Now the A-10 can keep the money Temple earns even after Temple leaves.
The HL is different because it will be a 1 bid league. If Butler stayed, the HL earns off only its auto birth, whether that's Butler or somebody else. By banning Butler, it forced Butler to leave early, and pay a large buyout. Now the HL gets the buyout money and still gets the same NCAA tourney money, and one of the conferences existing members gets the NCAA tourney recognition. It would have been terrible for the conference if it had lost its only tournament representative.
This had absolutely nothing to do with university presidents they "acting like scorned children who didn't get their way" as Katz suggests. It was about adults making business decisions, something Katz obviously has no understanding of.
If the HL had multiple surething at-large caliber teams, they wouldn't have forced Butler out, because then it would have made financial sense to have them stay.
Once again, the reason Butler is gone is because the rest of the conference simply wasn't good enough.
