Am I reading the bracket wrong or wouldn't a possible UWM vs. Butler match-up happen in the semi-final round and not the final round?

Game is not listed in jsonline.com, as being on the radio.

Game is not listed in jsonline.com, as being on the radio. All indications are that it will be on WISN. This isn't 1990, after all.

I sure enjoyed the preview article in the JS this morning.
Not to mention the omission of our game from the broadcast listing.

Mike Hart, however, did find room for us in his Steve Rosenbloom rip-off rant:
The Panthers will be able to tell their grandchildren they played in the 2002 College Basketball Invitational presented by Zebra Pen. That's sort of like saying you once played in the Weed-Eater Bowl.

Its really sad when a news source across the country gets it right before our local one...

It's also sad that we obsess on it, blaming the local media, when our own athletic department doesn't even follow this standard.
Until that happens, we have nowhere else to point the fingers but there.

Nothing prevents the local media from doing it right no matter what our AD is doing. The rest of the media world has figured it out. Is the JS just dumber? Biased? Ignorant?

I have every intention of speaking about this issue directly with the right people the next time I get the chance. But instead of "spewing venom" I'm going to ask specifically what their position is and why that is their position. I'm not convinced that our athletic department is either silent or conflicted on this issue. If the answer is that they are okay with "UW-Milwaukee" (or with multiple variants of our name) I want to know why. It may have to do with University politics. If the answer is that they don't think it's important, I will tell them why I think that is absolutely wrong. But until I have the facts (rather than message board rumor) I'm not going to pre-judge their position.

That's the point i just made in the branding thread.
i don't talk with the folks in athletics on a regular basis, but i have to wonder how much emphasis they put on the "Milwaukee Panthers." Certainly the athletics website isn't consistent.
