6 of 22 beyond the arc. 17 of 48 overall. Can't win if ya don't score, and Valpo's zone gave our offense fits. Defense did what it could, but it just wasn't enough against a strong Valpo team. As bad as the refs got at times neither team gained benefit from it. Need to win out now, which is still doable. We just need to run a more dynamic offense that what we saw today.

Congrats to Valpo. They deserved to win the game, the Panthers didn't.
Loose balls, get on the floor Panthers. It seemed VU got every one.
Richie Edwards, you are a tool.

As bad as the refs got at times neither team gained benefit from it. I would say Broekhoff being allowed to take four steps on consecutive possessions in the final two minutes was a definite benefit for Valpo.

This is the worst statistical scoring team in Rob Jeter's tenure as coach. Not even the 9-22 team of '06-'07 was this terrible as they averaged more points than this team. Of the 23 games played this year, UWM has scored in the 50's a whopping 13 times. It's absolutely pathetic to hold a Valpo team, which is averaging 71 ppg this year, to 55 points and still lose. The Germantown boys team has an offense more dynamic than this one.

At one point the Panthers were hitting 60% of their free throws. i'm not sure where they're at now, but the last two games can't have helped the season stats much.
Tony Meier was better today, but missed some, and other players weren't much better.
i have to think we would had a much better chance of winning this game if the team could hit free throws.

Tough loss but Valpo definitely earned the win. They executed on both ends down the stretch - we did not. Missed shots aside, how many times did we throw the ball away in the second half? You can't score if you never get a shot up. That possession deficit was compounded by all the offensive rebounds we allowed Valpo.
By the way, I didn't see a single call in the second half I disagreed with, although there were a couple of non-calls that were mystifying.
Hard to hand out back pats after a loss like this but I thought Kyle Kelm was terrific today, especially on defense.

Maybe I have a bad angle from my seats but I had an issue with the foul call on Tony in the 2nd half. It's the second game in a row where he's gotten called for what looks like just standing there. The Valpo player had just caught the ball, took one dribble, then a foul call on Tony.
I'd like to know what he's dong wrong there because it doesn't look to me like it's anything more than what everyone else is doing.
Again, maybe it's just the angle I have from my seats. Fran and Paul you were probably able to see what he was doing with his hands, maybe you saw it.

In the end, there's no one to blame but our boys in gray. actually, they shot better than 60% today While FTs were not as off as they have been, The teams put up similar numbers, Valpo's 8% advantage at the charity stripe was a significant difference in the game.

Offensively, there were a lot of lazy passes which lead to 8 Valpo steals and who knows how many deflected. I thought Kelm could have played better. There were several occasions on the offensive where he looked weak or played smaller than he is. Like the Butler game, there were a lot of occasions in which we had a mismatch with Meier and didn't take advantage of it. Give credit to Broekhoff and Van Wijk who played like bigs in the paint today. We have a problem when Gulley takes the most shots and but isn't hitting them.

I've never came on this board and talked about the refs before, but today it was a terrible game for the refs. Weird calls both ways.

We also have a problem when 6 of Kaylon's 8 shots are from behind the arc.
