Tough trip. Not a good reaction to the tough loss in Youngstown.
That said, Cleveland has already shown they are very beatable, and they still have to come to Milwaukee.
And comments about our offense notwithstanding (yeah, we obviously had a bad day) our defense was 95% of the problem in that game. Just terrible execution defensively.
So we had a bad day. It sucks but we can't change it now. Let's put it behind us and pay back Butler this Thursday.

In terms of Kaylon's yelping at the officials, at least he cares. It was a lousy call and he was quite clearly frustrated with every aspect of the game to that point. No blame from this corner.
Frankly, the burden on Kaylon is just too great. He has to direct the offense and defend the other team's second-best perimeter player and now he must lead the team in scoring as well.
According to the J-S season preview section, Tony Meier was preseason first-team all-league. At the moment, he's not even first-team all-Panther. This team isn't wired to win without Tony.
And what compelled Paris to take so many tough 2s at the expense of open 3s? Look at his shooting splits, guys. They're staggering.

What open 3s? Just like us, CSU likes to take away the 3 point shot. Paris could have been more selective, but credit CSU's defense for forcing him to take more twos.

Put it this way, Fran: The 3s he eschewed were no more covered than the 2s he took.
For the record, Paris is shooting 40 percent on 3s and 25 percent on 2s. I'd rather have him shooting contested 3s than guarded 2s ... or passing the ball to someone else. That's where Tony's struggles come into play. With his game sagging, that's one fewer option.
Paris was guarded more closely than normal and elected to shut down the best part of his game. Didn't the coaches talk to him about this? I'll give Cleveland State some of the credit for the debacle, but much of the responsibility has to fall on the Panthers themselves.
Turnovers were even at 15-all. The Vikings don't get that many run-outs without the Panthers missing 33 of 51 shots.

There needs to be more post touches. I saw way too many possesions yesterday where we are just passing the ball around the perimeter and chucking up ugly shots at the end of the shot clock. I understand that the post feeds aren't always there, but there has to be multiple attempts at getting the ball to Kyle or James inside on each possesion.
Also, I really have no idea what is up with Tony Meier. The best play IMO with Tony is the pick and pop. He seems like he gets open alot for 3's when running this. For some reason we haven't been running that lately. Maybe we should get back to what we did last season and the offense SHOULD run a little more effectively IMO.

Not sure if it was fatigue on Milwaukee's part, quickness on CSU or a combination of both, but CSU able to recover on defense. It seemed that CSU was always able to get to the open person before they could get a shot away or get the ball. I'd like to think some of it was fatigue on our part.

Wow. A Cleveland fan complaining that Kaylon was "all over their guards".
If that isn't the very definition of the "pot and the kettle", I don't know what is.

I could tell from the beginning that it wasn't going to be our game, considering everything they threw up either went in or they got a second chance rebound and made sure it went in.
