Big non-conference game if we have an at-large hope this year.
If Northern Iowa beats Iowa and is 8-1 like us then it would be a big RPI booster to win this one and a quality win as well on the resume.

I don't want to say this is an important win but it's certainly an important game. The toughest thing about this will be the fact that the big red W on the other side of the schedule will be difficult to ignore.

Planning on heading to the game this weekend, anyone else making the voyage to the land of corn?

I would love to head down there and check out the McLeod Center (which one of the recent new arena's I would love to rip off and put on campus) and hopefully a Milwaukee W. Unfortunately I have some holiday activities that will prevent me from making the trip.
BTW is there any chance this series gets extended? This is a good non conference match up that I would like to see continued.

Is there any chance this series gets extended? Well, the current contract carries through 2013-14, so there will be at least one more game in each locale.

I would love to go. Money is tight (damn Christmas shopping) but if I can figure out the ticket situation, I'd be glad to take care of that for someone in exchange for a free ride! Haha

realtimerpi.com, but RPI is lame until conference season starts. Northwestern actually moved up in the RPI despite getting totally mugged by Baylor in their own arena.

Northern Iowa beat Iowa 80-60 so we will have a battle of 8-1's on Saturday.
Winner gets a nice win on their resume!

rpi is pretty much useless most of the year, but its completely whack this early. Use kenpom. It's so much better.
Milwaukee is currently 99 in the kenpom rankings. UNI is 50. kenpom predicts a Northern Iowa win, 62-55.

Sagarin has Milwaukee at No. 64 and Northern Iowa at No. 32.
This, in my opinion, is a much closer approximation.
Realtimerpi, which is totally out of whack, has UNI winning 79-65.

Can't wait for Saturday. Got my tickets. Four hours, 30 minutes to Cedar Falls. Figure on a 7:30 a.m. departure.
Milwaukee must close out on Jake Koch and Chip Rank, a pair of Wisconsin-bred power forwards, whose 3-pointers largely helped bury Iowa last night at the McLeod Center.
Milwaukee, which outscores its opponents 66-56, is currently shooting 35 percent on 3s and holding its opponents to a shade under 22 percent. UNI, which outscores its opponents 69-59, is currently shooting 40 percent on 3s and holding its opponents to a shade under 32 percent.
