It's not unreasonable to point out the free throw issue. We can always find issues with games, certainly ones this early. This is a really good start for our team. I wish I could have watched this one. We should all be really pleased with the players and coaches so far. This is a nice start and I do think we have a very good chance to go 7-1. Nothing about Loyola and UIC this season concerns me. Those are very winnable games. I'd be disappointed if we lost either.

We can go on for hours about the whole free-throw deal but hey, I'll just let those who are so obsessed over it to talk it out with the team.
Well, yes, LR shot 72% on FT, but shot only 35% from the field, only 3-17 for 3 pointers.
We shot 41% from the field, 50% for 3's. Gotta look at the bright spots tonight: 5-1, our best start since the Pearl years, and Haarsma played gangbusters tonight: 6-9 from the field, 3-3 from the line, 2-3 on 3's, 17 points, 5 rebounds; awesome game!
Plus 11 points, 8 rebounds from Kelm, and 9 points from McCallum.
Enough for a win, we're 5-1, ENJOY IT!!!

Front court in this game: 29 points, 14 rebounds, 4 assists.
UWM committed 13 turnovers in this game (I believe a season low) and 7 of them were steals. Crazy.

Crazier: UWM shot 40.8% in the game, and of Milwaukee's six opponents, only two have themselves shot better than that -- Southwest State (43.1%) and Michigan State (43.8%).

Just win. It doesn't have to be a masterpiece. 5-1 coming home for the Chicago schools sounds great. well, you got exactly what you wanted...lol You're supposed to get what you want on your birthday. And, as Hack said, I think Boudreau again hit it on the head. Bottom line: Milwaukee is winning the games that it's "supposed" to win. This is how you get 20-plus wins and build a program's foundation.

Again, they need to WORK on their free throws. I don't get how this program is so bad at making free throws... First off, very happy with the result. But why did Haggerty enter the game for the first time in the second half in the waning few seconds? To shoot free throws? Other than Haarsma's two clutch tries -- one, really -- with .3 seconds left, Haggerty attempted the game's biggest charity shots. Is anyone comfortable with this? As a former coach said: "Yes, the guys missed some free throws, but it's my job to get the right free-throw shooters to the line."

That would be Evan at the very end.

By the way, James Haarsma is every bit as good as advertised.
