I would say it will be tough for the HL to win 4 games on that list.

Of games I think the HL could win I would say: Milwaukee could beat either Wisconsin or Michigan St. Detroit could beat St. Johns or possibly Notre Dame. Butler could beat Gonzaga, Xavier, and Purdue And I'm sure someone else will play a better game then expected and possibly steal another one.

"Milwaukee could beat either Wisconsin or Michigan State."
Fellas, I would temper this talk.
It's highly unlikely that a mid-major (albeit a good one), playing without its best player, can beat a Big Ten heavyweight.
I think you're setting yourselves up for a disappointment.
Let's get out there and compete hard against these teams and not get blown off the court, as has happened too often here.

All I'm saying is of the games listed above us winning wouldn't shock me and its more likely than anything else on the list. Now Valpo beating OSU or Cleveland St. beating Vandy? That would STUN me.

It would be great if we could beat either Michigan State or Wisconsin, but I would really be elated if we could build off that 3 point loss last year and FINALLY get the Marquette monkey off our program's back!

Theres only a monkey if you believe weve never won. Didnt ghostofdylan or blackpanther prove that we won a few games back in 1915 or something?

They're only going to have something like 6 scholarship players and anyone who was any good on that team either graduated or is ineligible this season. Not just bad, 200+ RPI bad. My biased self would give Butler a chance in all three (IU, Stanford, PU) of those games, plus the Xavier game at Hinkle. Louisville game could be ugly and Gonzaga is all but unbeatable in Spokane.

I agree I don't think St. Johns will be very good either after losing practically everyone from last year. I only included them on this list because they are in the "Others Receiving Votes" list on the top 25.

St. John's has a great recruiting class this season that will be playing. I think it was like 7 top 100 players. I can see St. John's playing well in late January to the end of the season. So, the time to beat them would be early in the season.

So, the time to beat them would be early in the season. Agreed. On paper they look to be bringing in a talented recruiting class, although 3 of them are ineligible until the 2nd semester. South Florida will be "awful". DePaul will be "awful". St. John's will not be "awful".

Its unusual to see so many Horizon games played at home against ranked/quality opponents. That is a significant change over what used to be the norm (albeit Butler is hosting the lions share).
Considering the significance of home court advantage in college basketball, I wouldn't be surprised if we are a player in several of those games.

Butler is hosting the lion's share. B-I-N-G-O. Doesn't that say something about the caliber of its program? As such, don't be remotely surprised if Butler registers the lion's share of the wins ... again.

With Arizona losing to Seattle Pacific and only beating Humboldt State by 9 in the Wildcats two exhibition games, maybe Valpo on Monday can win.
