So the Panthers are picked to finish sixth, and Angela Rodriguez is on the pre-season all-league team.
Neither pick seems unrealistic to me. (i got a kick out of seeing that Green Bay got only 29 of 30 possible votes for 1st place; Detroit got the remaining vote.) The Panthers have a lot of questions going into the season, and a lot of those answers depend on a really young roster. ARod certainly lived up to her advance billing last year, and she did well with the minutes she played.
If the other youngsters follow her example, this will be a fun team to watch, and the team will have a good chance of finishing better than sixth.
This squad does not appear to have as much height as other recent Milwaukee squads did, but athleticism is as important as height.

espn.go.com/womens-college-basketball/rankingsIf anyone wasn't fully aware how difficult a schedule the women's team has this year, check out the first polls of the season. Games at #1 ranked Baylor, #15/16 Oklahoma, vs. #25/receiving votes Michigan State and vs./at #24/receiving votes Green Bay as well as home games vs. Wisconsin and Toledo. Gotta hand it to Sandy for challenging her team. Realistically, this won't result in a ton of a wins but if they take that next step forward from last year, they could win a game or two and def. help come conference time.

There has been some discussion about the preseason schedule on the board already.
There is challenging yourself, and there is setting yourself up to get stomped. Count me among those who think this schedule is more the latter than the former. This is a very young squad, so i could be completely wrong. i'd be very happy to be proven wrong.
