I'd complain more about this, but the truth is that the medium itself is in such a crisis that our expectations are out of whack with what they can really afford any more. And while I don't personally care about the Bucks or the NBA one way or the other, that strike is likely to cost their sports section a lot of ad revenue. The days of the JS even pretending to have beat reporters for more than the Packers, Brewers, Bucks and UW are coming to an end. Even Marquette is in a precarious spot. The Marquette fans are also complaining about the coverage changes for their program, and the truth is that they have reason to be worried. Their fan appeal is still disproportionate to their student/alumni base for historical reasons, but in the new media reality that won't matter much longer.

I feel like the JS is just another place to read about the story. Honestly we all here prolly know more about this team and whatnot than any JS Staffer or "beat reporter" ever would.
The nice thing is exposure to the rest of Milwaukee, but it still is just a small bit.

It's almost as if we need a dedicated blogger to fill the void. Hmm. Where are we going to find one of those...

Yet another in a long list of reasons why ghostofdylan needs to start up a Panther/Mid Major Basketball/Brewers/Other blog.

Whatever you want. I need a recruiting writer, but I'd take help anywhere.
