No Khyle Marshall on either team? Absurd.

Only person I can really take issue with being ahead of him would be Averkamp. Other than that, the next guy on the list that I might replace with Marshall would probably be Smith.
Should be great motivation for him though. Makes U19 Team USA but can't get on either all HL team.
All in all, will most likely be pretty bunched up at the top of the standings between the top 4-5 teams

The other day I was in a B&N and picked up the Sporting News College BB annual and paged through it. I think the guy who wrote the Horizon section was a Plain Dealer reporter. Nothing exceptional about the preview except that his coach of the year was -- Ray McCallum! In a league with Brad Stevens, Gary Waters and Rob Jeter, what kind of crazy do you have to be to make that choice?
The reason I was reminded of that was that when I looked at this thread I saw that Detroit had three first team pre-season all league players -- and was picked to finish second.
That's all you need to know.

Cleveland State lost the best player it's ever seen and had a horrid final stretch even with him on the squad. For Christ's sake, they went 4-3 in their last 7 regular season league games with the losses coming to Detroit, Butler, and Milwaukee -- the teams they needed to beat. and half the time Cole was the entire offense. How the hell is Cleveland State going to win with Aaron Pogue in there when they don't have the greatest safety net in the history of the Horizon League making up for his awful fouls and total lack of technique? I guess the league really put a lot of stock in Anthony Hill's talent. Neither of Milwaukee's significant losses came close to matching the impact of Norris Cole.
I remember watching CSU against Butler in the tournament where Cole spent the entire first half trying to get his teammates involved before just giving up and doing absolutely everything himself in the second period. I mean really.
Also, Eli Holman might not even play this season.
Also, Youngstown State 7th?

I will say this about Detroit:
They beat who they were supposed to beat. They lost to those they were supposed to lose to. 1-8 against Milwaukee, CSU, Butler and Valpo. I think that speaks for itself.
Of course, this is what I'm expecting for Eli Holman: no games missed. Really. It's going to come out from the athletic department that they're going to let the "justice system run its course" so they will suspend judgment until after the season. Does anyone else think this isn't going to happen?

Completely agree Panther - wouldn't surprise me at all.
With all the seniors they have on this team and with little Ray being projected to be drafted in the NBA next year, this may not be their only shot, but it will probably be the best shot that Ray Sr. has since he's been there of getting to the tourney. He certainly won't ruin that himself, and I doubt that the athletic dept or University in general (who let these characters in) will either.
