The sad thing is, even if Butler pulls it off tonight...the Jay Bilas, Dookie V crowd will want to put an asterisk on this season by saying college hoops was down this year. Vitale already said on Twitter today that the quality of play in this year's tournament was poor.

Dookie V thought it was a great tournament until Derek Williams started dunk-facing on his precious Blue Devils.
Whether the ESPN crew likes it or not, Butler WILL be the Nat Champ after tonight. I think Uconns inexperience, especially with their bigs, will allow Butler to turn Uconn over and score in the paint. Then will the ESPN crew stop talking about how Butler is a nice story, and talk about how they were a thumb-nail from being back-to-back Nat Champs? Nope, they'll just say how disappointing it was that the level of play was down this year.
And they certainly won't mention how both Butler and VCU lost their best players to the NBA lottery, with Butler losing their star 2 years early.

ESPN Gameday with video of the Jan. 3 beatdown Milwaukee put on Butler. They showed Hill, K.Williams three over Howard and a Ryan Allen dunk!

Maybe Tom Oates should've wrote this before the Butler-UW game.

Barkley, et al picked UConn, so it looks like a Butler victory.

Barkley, et al picked UConn, so it looks like a Butler victory. Saw that. He also picked Butler on the Dan Patrick show. That's Chuck for ya.

Chuck says some dumb things, but then he drops gems like that.

Same offensive drought that doomed them last year. Butler can't win unless Mack or Howard takes over offensively

They also can't win unless the officials stop screwing them. Walker's foot was down out of bounds before he threw the ball in a couple of minutes ago, and now Lamb just slammed bodily into Nored without a call on that steal.
And now Howard got held going for that rebound with 12:50 left.

Why is Howard not taking the three?

Because he's not making it. He's 0-for at least his last 10.
