Big blunder by Shaka not to use his extraneous fifth timeout to set up a play at the end of the half. Resulted in an unfocused possession and a turnover.

Why would you pick VCU though? Over a team that's done this before? Plenty of reasons. VCU is a great team with a lot of talent. I picked Butler, and of course our programs interests align with Butler winning. Go Dawgs!

Well congratulations to Butler on their second straight national final appearance. I found it a very tightly contested and physical game. Kudos to the officials for the job they did, and for letting the teams play. The beat goes on and on and on for BU, and I shudder to think of the type of players they will be able to attract in the future.
Khyle Marshall is such an X factor with his worm-like skills. I don't see any reason why Butler wouldn't be favored to win it all, even over Uconn.
Blue 2 also an X factor.

The officials were tremendous tonight. When they just let the teams play it's a beautiful game, as evidenced tonight.

Really? They made a ton of bad calls. They fell for every flop and called that invisible over-the-back on Marshall late in the game, among others.

I have to say that I'm completely with K-Raw on this one.
It was great to see the second half blow past the under-16 and under-8 timeouts without a stoppage.
Did you see how many times flopping on both sides was overlooked?
These officials basically said, "Just play the game and let us worry about the rest."

Butler has become the 14th repeat finals qualifier -- and third from a midmajor conference -- in the 73-year history of the event.
The other repeat qualifiers were Oklahoma State (MVC, 1945-46), Kentucky (1948-49 and 1996-98), San Francisco (unaffiliated, 1955-56), Cincinnati (MVC, 1961-61), Ohio State (1960-62), UCLA (1964-65 and 1967-73), North Carolina (1981-82), Houston (Southwest, 1983-84), Georgetown (1984-85), Duke (1990-92), Michigan (1992-93), Arkansas (Southwest, 1994-95) and Florida (2006-07).
Pretty impressive company.

In the UK-UConn game, I'm for five overtimes.
Why do I get the feeling that the soundtrack for this game should be "Drunken Sailor" of NFL Films fame?

With this result, there are no true one-and-done players remaining in the tournament. Lamb (from Uconn) might declare, but he would not have gone from high school to the NBA with the old rule. Coaches who recruit one-and-dones remain 0-fer.

Great job Butler! Please keep going and beat UConn....the lesser of 2 evils from the 2nd semi. So glad Calipari lost tonight, but if I hear Jim Nantz call Butler "Cinderella" one more time, I'm going to vomit.

Why does the word "cinderella" upset people?

Why does the word "cinderella" upset people? Because there have been 14 teams in the history of the NCAA Tournament who have gone to the national championship game in back-to-back seasons. At what point does Butler's success cease being surprising?
