Maybe I take my sports a little bit too serious, but there are 3 teams in this world I hate: 1) Marquette 2) Cubs 3) Bears +1 add the yankees to my list though.

I would call finishing in 11th place in your conference underachieving. Take away the last two games (which includes a win against a "mid-major" that didn't really have any BIG wins this year and a conference rival) and I would call it a terrible season. Especially since they shouldn't be in the tournament anyways. Just my opinion. 9-9 in the best conf. in america and going to the sweet 16, is not a good year in year book.

The problem with the Big East? Look at the bottom of the league ... absolute horsesh*t (I'll continue to hide the fact that UWM lost to DePaul in the recesses of my mind).
So teams can load up a few extra victories against that dreck.

Just because you're in the "best conference in America" doesn't give you a pass to go .500 and make the NCAA tournament. Obviously, there are plenty of teams out there that can beat Big East teams seeing as though 9 of 11 are gone already.
We all appreciate the fact that you are a die-hard Panther fan... Lord knows we need as many as we can get! But I personally couldn't even fathom the thought of cheering for MU. In fact, I recently put all of my parents home videos onto DVDs as a Christmas gift. There was a shot of me getting a Marquette sweatshirt when I was maybe 6 or 7 years old and I was so excited. It still disgusts me to this day that I used to root for them as a child. But hey, to each their own I guess.
Whether it's Marquette and UWM, Georgia and Georgia Tech, or Butler and Indiana - you just don't normally see fans cheering for the other. You are a rare exception to the rule.

Nevermind the bottom of the league for a bit here, the Bid East had so many big wins in the non-league versus other NCAA teams.

Yes, my wife and I are die-hard MU & UWM fans who attend every home. Your correct, it's rare. There are others I know who have both MU & UWM season-tickets besides myself.

As long as fans like these are still in the minority, I'm OK with it. Same with UW fans. They're not worse fans, and I'm sorry if I implied that before. But DA (Dual Allegiance) fans split their money and time among two teams, and if a majority of our fans are DA fans, we're being held back.

BP, I understand and agree with most of your argument. But does your idea of DA apply to other sports? I bet many of UWM's fans invest more in the Packers or Brewers.

I kind of really don't know what to say about dual allegiance fans. I see your point on some levels and hate them on other levels.

We're comparing apples to oranges in a Badgers/Packers football discussion. Do they split fans? Sure, but there are more than enough fans for both - one of the reasons I'm such a proponent of Milwaukee Football. And even money doesn't need to be split between Milwaukee Brewers and Panthers baseball - there's no ticket sales for the Panthers!

This topic needs to go to "Pitfalls of Dual Allegiance"
Let's keep this one on toury games. Thank You

Can the NCAA please stop giving the City of New Orleans, the right to host NCAA toury games. Last season they had the 1st/2nd rounds and only sold 55% of the seats were sold. It seats 18,500.
Now they get the regional semi final and finals. The upper deck is empty. Maybe 60% sold.
We have a great basketball state in Wisconsin. Milwaukee had the toury in 1992, 96, 99, 2004 & 2010. It was sold-out every year. I forget what year Madison had it at the Kohl Center. It was sold-out.
What gives NCAA?

Florida just crushed BYU in overtime. So long BYU, the fakest of the mid-majors.
