Provided as a public service and back by popular demand, here are the results of Wright State's last 12 visits to Milwaukee. In Dayton, they call these games "The Dirty Dozen." Jan. 16, 2010 -- Milwaukee 67, Wright State 61 (OT) Dec. 6, 2008 -- Milwaukee 66, Wright State 59 Jan. 3, 2008 -- Milwaukee 75, Wright State 64 Jan. 21, 2007 -- Milwaukee 73, Wright State 69 Jan. 21, 2006 -- Milwaukee 61, Wright State 54 Jan. 17, 2005 -- Milwaukee 71, Wright State 66 Feb. 7, 2004 -- Milwaukee 72, Wright State 66 Jan. 25, 2003 -- Milwaukee 74, Wright State 59 (Klotsche) Feb. 14, 2002 -- Milwaukee 94, Wright State 68 (Klotsche) Jan. 18, 2001 -- Milwaukee 56, Wright State 43 (Klotsche) Feb. 19, 2000 -- Milwaukee 81, Wright State 67 (Klotsche) Jan. 21, 1999 -- Milwaukee 69, Wright State 65 (Klotsche) The last time WSU won here was a 75-65 decision at the Arena on Feb. 21, 1998, the regular-season finale in a 3-24 campaign, Ric Cobb's next-to-last year at the helm.
In spite of the outcome of the first meeting between the two teams, I really think the key for the Panthers is to relentlessly pound the ball down to the low blocks. Come in, Anthony Hill!

BIG BIG WIN! Like I said we needed to take next 3 after the Butler game! 2 down 1 to go! Way to grind it out and pull out the win Panthers! and thank goodness Wright St. didn't score when the refs missed the blatant over and back call

Yes, definitely a nice win. This was likely the best win of the season, as it was a 'win ugly' win. Ant had 22 and no one else out of single digits. Turnovers were kept to 10. We out rebound the other team by 10 in total rb's. We were 15 to 6 on offensive, which is huge. That's how you turn losses into wins. We've had a number of other times to get games like this and we have not. Let's keep it rolling against GB.

Good game to see in person...glad I got to catch this one. Bad Calls both ways, very obvious missed calls.
So, ill just say, where is feet down when he was falling out of bounds..I thought you couldnt call it falling out but I guess you can as long as your not airborn falling out of bounds.
Nice 3 at the end...kinda funny how he hit it, and everyone kinda just got silent for a minute, like something was wrong.

Rebounds: 34-24 Free throws: 20-29, 12-15.
How Wright State has been this good with forwards this bad is beyond me. Was it just this game?

Two senior starters are on the bench injured. They made 10 of the 11 3 point baskets against UWM at the Nutter Center. Cooper Land and Troy Tabler did not play Friday night either. Troy broke his middle finger of his shooting hand in practice this past Thurs. We had to rely on 5 freshmen and 2 other 1st year player who transferred in this year. We still had a chance to win at the end. Congrats go out to UWM for sweeping Butler this year!!!

Back to back charge calls on Wright State after taking a 51-50 lead with 1:40 remaining certainly didn't hurt your cause, either. 42.5% FG shooting for the raiders, 34.9% for the Panthers. 43.8% 3pt compared to 18.2% Congrats for winning the game at the free throw line despite average free throw shooting. Congrats to Anthony Hill for scoring 14 of his 22 at the stripe.

Whew!
I really don't enjoy playing Wright State ... and I mean that as a sincere compliment.
Clearly, the Brownell/Donlon System is one that works with interchangeable parts.
First win of the year when shooting less than 40 percent from the field.

For the charging calls at the end, I think they were good calls. I was watching on TV and they had some pretty good views. I think it was Ant on the first one, he was planted pretty good to draw the charge. For the second, there was clearly some 'leading with the elbow' to clear out some space by the WS player that led to that call. The other call near the end that worked against Milwaukee was that 'over and back' that should have been called. That one was clearly off the WS player's foot on the replay. I only saw parts of this game but I didn't think the calls were slighted one way or the other.

With today's win over RPI No. 95 Wright State, the Panthers at the moment have two RPI top 50 (Butler, 44, twice) and four RPI top 100 victories (UNI, 67; Butler, 44; Butler, 44; WSU, 95).
In their NCAA tournament season of 2005-06, the Panthers had one RPI top 50 (Oklahoma, 18) and five RPI top 100 (Hawai'i, 100; Montana, 61; Butler, 87; Butler, 87; OU, 18) victories.
In the Sweet 16 season of 2004-05, the best in school history, the Panthers had two RPI top 50 (Alabama, 22; Boston College, 13) and two RPI top 100 victories (same two teams).
Weird, wild stuff.

Even so, if you'll recall, that possession was quickly ended seconds later with what else, a charge by Evans. Also, the goaltending call on WSU (which even the UWM play by play guy questioned on the replay) easily made up for that backcourt call anyways.

Clearly, Rob has been been preaching physical and mental toughness to his players and it has especially started to show with seniors Boyle and Hill, who have taken several charges in the last three games.
This wasn't a game for the faint of heart, something that's true of most Wright State games. The Raiders make you guard, they make you work for your points and they make you sweat out every single possession.
This was the way Donlon had to have the game unfold in order to compete without Land or Tabler. Wonderful game plan that was wonderfully countered by Rob, who saw the benefits to pounding the ball into Anthony in the post.
Terrific, old-school game.
