But instead we get Buffalo, which isn't an especially easy trip and is another of those ho-hum, schedule-any-time-we-want opponents.
Such is the plight for all but about 15 percent of the participants in the BracketBuster.
Still, it's a game on the schedule and it appears somewhat important that the Panthers win it.

Not much to say about Buffalo. I was hoping for Murray State or Indiana State, but they're a good team. Upset Wright State got a TV spot over us, but those losses to Loyola, WMU, etc are hard to cover up. It is what it is, Glad we don't have to go out to New Mexico or California. Meh.

"Who do you want to play?"
At that stage of the season, unless we're fighting for at least an NIT berth, I want eight days after the Valparaiso game to get ready for Cleveland State.

I wanted Indiana State or Murray State. That would be a neat school to come to the Cell next year.

Real original, mupanther If Wright State got ESPN U, I wonder if our game can at least get ESPN3.com?

Side note from Andy Katz.
Last time a CAA school played at Wichita State, it was George Mason. Mason won the game and didn't win it's league but got an at-large bid and went to the Final Four.

Who was the other guy on the show with Katz? On the show, Andy Katz noted that Cleveland State has a better chance at an at-large than Butler, and the other guy acted surprised. Too bad he didn't do his research or anything, it might've actually done him well on this type of show

Joe Lunardi, the bracketology guy.

Butler is different now, they have name recognition. A 42 RPI for a major program has just as good of a chance, if not better, than a Cleveland St. team with a mid 20's RPI. It happens every year.
I don't agree with Katz, I think Butler would have to crash and burn pretty hard not to make the field, and Cleveland St. still has work to do. Butlers has quality wins, something Cleveland St. can't compete with, and these wins outweigh their "bad losses" IMO.
As for the bracketbuster, a MAC school as mentioned is a team we can schedule anytime, and Buffalo is probably the worst draw we could have gotten. Its an expense that's tough to justify IMO, but we could have had a better season and gotten a better draw, so we can only blame ourselves. I still believe in the worth of the BB

Thanks. Makes sense, as he has left the Vikings out of his latest bracketology as an at-large. Tough to say Butler deserves in and not CSU with season as a whole, but he knows his stuff. It'd be a crime for them to be out of the tournament with less than 6 losses.

I think Cleveland St and Butler will both get in. Especially if they both win their BB game. That's what the BB was made for.
