High scoring game, fun to watch. The game got a bit scary after the 23 point lead got cut down to 10.

Good game, definitely better offensive game, though the D wasn't as good as it can be. Especially in the post; too many 2nd/3rd chances. Tone & Ryan's alley-oop was amazing.

This is the type of games we should have been enjoying all year consistently with the level of talent on this team. I'm beginning to believe that as Kaylon Williams goes, so goes the team, as has been mentioned by someone else previously. Kaylon did his best Jimmer Fredette impression at the end of the half, and passed the ball pretty well all night. Maybe instead of taking open 3's at the edge of the 3 point line Kaylon should stick with guarded 27-30 footers , of course what do I know, I was the same guy that said he wouldn't mind if Tony didn't take another 3 earlier in the season. Impressive Alley oop, I'm glad Allen is seeing more PT because we need his athleticism. Shake off that botched dunk Kelm, it happens to the best of us. As some mentioned, the defense wasn't the best in the world, as UIC had some stretches where they were getting a lot of open looks. That being said, our offense was our best defense tonight. The game wasn't as close as the score would indicate. Nice to see Rob let the guys be athletic and push the ball up when the opportunity presented itself, and also a huge kudos to the inside/outside balance we showed tonight. Great win all around, lets take care of business on Saturday and get back to being a winning team!

Here's an excerpt from the book Fab Five about how UIC assistant coach Donnie Kirksey -- he was the one in the purple suit -- once used Juwan Howard's circuslike recruitment to Michigan as a means to make himself rich and circumnavigate NCAA recruiting regulations.

Just finished watching the game.
Why are we taking digs at UIC? Our only concern at the moment should be our own program.
This team really needs to finish games better. I would have liked to have seen Kaylon return to the floor sooner as the margin approached single digits.

"Shake off that botched dunk Kelm, it happens to the best of us."
The defender got a piece of the ball and knocked it slightly out of his hands.

jeter was right on when he stated the the boys could have finished the game better. we definitely took the foot off of the gas in the couple of minuets. against a stronger opponent ( or even if we didn't have the large cushion) we could have lost this game. let's hope the coaches beat that point home in the 36 hours or so before we play Loyola.
good game overall; nothing gets the crowd hype like an awesome jam/half-court shot at the buzzer!
kind of an endless debate around here but the students were even more absent than normal tonight.

I like UIC's story about the game. It acknowledges the loss and the mistakes UIC made, but makes certain to highlight some of the positive aspects of the team's performance. Also of note from this game: Zavion Neely was ruled academically ineligible for the rest of his senior year sometime before the game. He was at the Cell and even wore his pregame warmups, but ended up sitting in the crowd.

The Panthers are now averaging 80 points in their wins and 50 points in their losses.
Wow! Call this group Team Extreme!

Fun game last night. It's great to see excitement, and a little swagger, back at the Cell. I hope the returning student body and general public take notice.
What a bizarre year of highs and lows. Despite that, I am convinced that this is a talented team. And the last five games have proven that they're a talented team worth watching.
Let's take care of Loyola before the schedule gets hairy.

Of course there's talent on this team, my friend.
After all, only a handful of teams across the country have had seven players score 15 or more points in a game this season.
The team's issue seems to be its approach. As some friends here have suggested privately, this is an offensive-oriented team that at times has had a defense-first mindset thrust upon it.
Let these guys loose and let it rip. The way this squad played last night is the way it must play to be successful.
