BTW - I can not believe Haidet gave a no buy out clause to someone unproven or almost anyone here for that matter. Guess it tracks with the horrible U S Cell contract....

Ah, the Ric Cobb Era. In his last year, his team shot 41%, 63.6 PF/69.4 PA. In Bo Ryan's two years here, they averaged 41%/69.9/67.05. In Pearl's first couple years, it was 45.5%/76.3/70.0.
In Jeter's last 3+ seasons, his teams average 40.7%/67.7/68.8.
Feel free to reach your own conclusions, but here are mine.
1. His teams can't shoot. 2. His teams don't play good enough defense to make up for it. 3. His teams shoot a less percentage than Cobb's last season, and nearly give up as many points. This year's outfit, while shooting a sizzling 42%, is also giving up 70.5 PPG.

There was a god awful loss at YSU in the NIT year at the end of the season that cost us the HL championship outright. I remember having to play at the girls game at Klotsche and having another guy in the band with a portable radio to get Bill Johnson's call. They lost 85-84 on questionable calls and a 3 point game tying shot being changed to a 2 point shot at the buzzer.

12/20/98, Tri-State 56-53 I remember being at this game. I guess I have no clue how Tri-State did overall that season, but I remember this being a pretty demoralizing loss. Isn't that the game where Tri-State attempted pretty much nothing but 3s? I'm too lazy to dig up a box score.

There are a lot of things Jeter's contract (and any D-I head coach) should have, and a buyout clause is one of the most important. Another one?
Automatic contract clause that stipulates if a school from a top-10 conference (RPI aggregate over last decade) hires the coach, they are mandated to fulfill a 2-for-2 series with Milwaukee. To not play the series, the school owes UWM $1 million. There's a similar clause in Jeff Capel's former contract with VCU; so, VCU and Oklahoma ended up playing a home and home when Capel was hired.

There's a better chance of UWM winning the National Championship this year than Jeter being hired away before the end of his contract.

I know this thread wasn't addressed to me, but if I see one more reference to Stanford being a good team this year.... Well lets just quit being ridiculous. Oklahoma St appears to be decent this year, so I guess we will either have to chalk up a 4 point Depaul loss to them as Depaul being a decent team, or the sun shining on a dogs ass. After watching Depaul last night, I'm leaning towards dogs ass. FWIW Butler just beat the aforementioned Stanford Cardinal basketball juggernaut by 33 points today.
