I hope everyone does realize, that as bad as we played tonight.. had we shot just 28-34 (instead of 15-34) from the FREE throw line.. we would have won this game and be 1-1. Fund-a-ment-als.You can't make a 60% FT shooting team an 80% FT shooting team. Rob's problem is he never signs great shooters. The best one he has is probably going to redshirt this season. At this rate, that Marquette game is going to be another blowout.

God, I fear for the Marquette game now. It's going to be humiliating.

I consider those two losses the tune up we should have gotten in Italy. This team will be ok but wow. Decent at best right now. I was hopeful of single digit losses this season.. that will be a bit more difficult now.
I guess the problem is.. with the UNDENIABLY AWESOME talent on this team, "decent" should not even come into the picture. Milwaukee Panther Leadership (Ant, Tone) . Step this thing up. Please.

So is it too early for the obligatory "these games don't mean anything, only the conference games are important" posts?

As I discussed with BP last night, the Panthers are now 5-8 in early-season tournaments since 2006, with wins over Radford (6-22, RPI 308), Loyola Marymount (3-27, 320), UC Davis (13-19, 264), Colgate (10-19, 290) and Texas State-San Marcos (11-16, 243).
Bluck!

Honestly, I fear the UC Davis game at the moment. Yup. If the Panthers just step-up and make there free-throws, I can see things snowball for good things for the Panthers. It's a big if, I know.

At this rate, that Marquette game is going to be another blowout. Agreed. This team isn't a good FT shooting team and won't be the rest of the year. This shouldn't come as a big surprise; they were a pathetic 28-50 last weekend against Carroll. I'm not sure if a strategy of getting to the foul line is wise if they shoot a percentage that would be unbecoming a JV girls team. It's an embarassment.

In all seriousness, I truly believe it's time to employ a team psychologist for the free throws.

I believe Dr. Knobb, the guy who counseled the New York Knights, is available.
The team doesn't need a psychologist or a swami. It has plenty of good free throw shooters. It needs some leaders to step up, it needs much better play at the point guard position than it has gotten in the first two games, and most of all it needs to start playing some freaking defense.
I can appreciate a lot of different kinds of basketball, but giving up 80 points in consecutive games makes me feel physically ill.

Still not worried. I know this is a good team. I know this team is 0 - 2 against some very marginal competition. Time to worry...again.

After two games...
No I'm still not worried or jumping ship.
