Overall good post Super King, but I'm curious how the Panthers can win 25 regular season games this year... Simple....finish 25 games with more points than the opposition has

Included in those games are Marquette, Wisconsin, Butler x2, and the rest of the Horizon League, and I'm sorry but we're not going 15-3 in Horizon play...

Jimmy -- Dave is not leaving, from what I hear. That would be a huge deal for us as a university, and would make the situation better than I thought.

Superking, remember that the team that went to Europe wasn't the Sweet 16 team but the NIT team of 03-04

The only guaranteed losses I see in the Horizon League are at Butler, at Detroit, and at Cleveland State. Every other game is winnable.

All of those games are winnable. Very tough, but not unwinnable. We hung with Butler to the last 90 seconds last year in the HLT semis at Hinkle. We lost at CSU on a last second shot. We won at Detroit. They may all be better this year -- I think we will be too.

I can, without hesitation say the Panthers have a 0% chance of winning 25 games this year, and I'll give you 20 to 1 odds that they don't. I'd be thrilled to be wrong however...

We may not have a chancellor, but the man in the office for the time being is a big Panther fan.

I'll go with 20-23 wins and in the conference final.

We may not have a chancellor, but the man in the office for the time being is a big Panther fan. Everything about this guy seems to be great; he was a major figure at a huge public research university (Pitt), he's been doing a phenomenal job as our Engineering Dean, and he clearly support's UWM's research expansion. Furthermore, he's already shown an interest in the basketball team. I can't help but wonder if they're considering promoting him at all.

My expectation is the same as always:
Improvement over last year.
That means at a minimum 21 wins, a top 4 finish, and a berth in the HL Semis. That's the bare minimum, IMO.
Better would be a top 2 finish and a trip to the HL Finals.
I think this is by far the best team that Rob has put together. There is no reason why we should not seriously contend for the league title.

"This is by far the best team that Rob has put together."
Agreed.
"At minimum 21 wins ... and a berth in the H League semis."
Agreed again.
The place, I suppose, where I differ a bit is with the projected regular-season finish, Lou. It's just so difficult to project the gains that rivals such as Cleveland State, Detroit and Valparaiso have made. For instance, who knows how good Jay Harris, Devon Long or Ray McCallum are?
I may err on the side of being a bit modest with my "expectations," but my hopes for this year are lofty given the schedule and the roster's apparent mix of depth, talent, balance and size.

Now that I have season tickets and Goolsby's is smoke free, I expect my 10 year son and I to have a good time this season, before, during and after games, win or lose.
