I was just watching the news and saw that Marcus Johnson, who was a cheerleader for UWM last year, was killed by a drunk driver (along with his girlfriend and another friend) in Madison last night. From what I heard on the news, he transferred to the University of Minnesota and was on the cheerleading squad there. When I saw the news, I thought he looked familiar... then they said he was a cheerleader at UWM last year and it finally hit me. He was the guy with the long pony tail. Thoughts and prayers go out to him and his family. Here's a link to the news story: www.todaystmj4.com/news/local/104530599.html

His girlfriend, Elysia, was on the team too. They were coming down here to spend time with their friends; namely, many of our current cheerleaders.
This is a tragedy in every sense of the word.

Terrible news. He was a great, fun kid to watch. A horrible PREVENTABLE tragedy, all because some asshole didn't think it was a big deal to drink and drive.

This is horrible, truly horrible to see three young lives snuffed out by someone who will now spend years in jail because he drove drunk.
I was just reading that our State Attorney General and Scott Walker want to undo the tougher penalties against drunk drivers put into law last year. What the hell could they be thinking?

If I could figure out how Walker sending $800 million in federal money to Florida so that it can build high speed rail instead of Wisconsin would prevent drunk drivers from killing innocent people I would surely be a smarter man than I am, because I can't.

Let's keep politics out of this.

Walker, will say NO to that stupid train idea. Perhaps you missed the news stories about how since the State signed the contracts and spent a bunch of the money, it CAN'T be canceled. (Just more proof about how little the HS but not college grad Walker knows about how government works)

Apparently some people can't read. Take the political BS to JSOnline.
