"I see a lack of support from the bench players, cheering on the players on the floor." That doesn't bother me at all. I think that's more of a girls thing. I've seen the guys really getting into the game during crunch times. It's been better than in past years.

Without reading too much into the stats, it's going to be an exciting year. This trip will undoubtedly give them a head-start on the season.

Hey hey, national pub! I won't mention the name thing; the piece was well-written and we learned something we didn't know, that perimeter bigs are a match-up problem for us.

How many teams in the Horizon have bigs that can shoot the 3? Well, besides our team.

How many teams in the Horizon have bigs that can shoot the 3? Well, besides our team. Good point. The other bigs in the H League tend to work pretty exclusively down low. Wisconsin obviously has guys that fit that description, however. I'll let dylan do the analysis for the rest of our non-con schedule.

With Hayward gone...who else is/was there?

Really nobody else since Schachtner and Tillema at GB. Ben Averkamp potentially?

Check out Souter's stats. 5 of 6 2 of 2 from 3pt 18:1 A / TO

That A/TO ratio for Patrick was the single stat that most jumped out at me from the trip. Next on the list was Tone Boyle's sub 25% 3 point shooting.
I can safely predict that neither will be repeated in the actual season.

Don't read too much into Patrick's, or anyone else's, stats from this trip, Don. When Rob said three of these opponents were college-level teams, I think he meant Concordia or Carroll.
As for conference "bigs" who can shoot it, Cory Johnson was 21 of 41 from long range (51.2 percent).
In the non-conference, the only real "bigs" we'll see who can shoot it from deep other than Jon Leuer (18 of 46, 39.1 percent) are 6-foot-8, 210-pound senior Mark Payne of UC Davis (22 of 48, 45.6 percent), though he's listed as a guard; and sophomores Nate Hutcheson (6-7, 210, 17 of 47, 36.2 percent) of Western Michigan and Jake Koch (6-9, 255, 16 of 40, 40 percent) of UNI.

Good work, as expected, dylan, but I still don't see Cory Johnson as a big. He's more of an undersized 4.
Keaton Nankivil is at least as dangerous from deep as Leuer.

dylan, you really should be a college hoops analyst for some big-time website or TV station.

Next on the list was Tone Boyle's sub 25% 3 point shooting. I can safely predict that neither will be repeated in the actual season. That was the one that had me little concerned, considering the level of competition. Just a little thou. Hope he was just very rusty. This teams needs Boyle and for you to be right on that prediction.
