I know everyone is excited at the start of the game but the morons who yell during the national anthem need to stop. It reflects poorly on the university, team and krazies when some moron yells -St Louis sucks during the national anthem. Have a little respect- thanks

maybe we need R. Kelly to sing our national anthem and then we would look right through our students...anyone see his rendition of the star spangled banner from that boxing match he did?

I'm with you represent... as is just about everybody. As with most student sections in the country, a few idiots can make everybody look stupid.
BTW, I didn't see the R. Kelly rendition but I can guess what happened.
"The bombs bursting in air gave proof through the night that our flag was still there... and then I pulled out my beretta. He walks up to the closet He comes up to the closet Now he's at the closet Now he's opening the closet... "

The Meaning of Patriotism By Scoop Jackson Page 2 Only in America … When Michael Buffer said his name before the fight, the room I was in grew quiet. Then it immediately got loud. Most times national anthems don't generate this type of reaction -- the fights or sporting events that follow them do. But in the words of the lil' great Huey Freeman: "Never underestimate how much n----s love R. Kelly." R. Kelly certainly caused some controversy with his national anthem performance. Then the beat came in. Then the the panic set in. Then the camera panned out. Then … the phones started ringing. OK, so my man Kells took the opportunity before the second act of Hopkins/Taylor, the second-biggest fight of the year, to Marvin Gaye the national anthem. Give it some flavor, show it some love. Cool. Wrong. sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=jackson/051206

represent's original point was a great one, especially with so many of our students' peers serving overseas right now, this poor behavior should be addressed. maybe you students could talk over some strategies for this at your pre-game today. in addition to the yelling, which is most obvious, please remember to take off those ball caps, winter hats and do-rags. also, it wouldn't hurt to sing along - that would be a much better way to focus that pre-game energy and drown out the people who are hollering other things now.

Usually just shooting the idiots a dirty look will work, otherwise telling them to shut up and show some respect is a good next step. I really wish our student section would clean up our act a bit. There is plenty of things you can yell at the other team with out swearing at them. Its nice to see the energy, but it would be better to have it be more focused. And while I off topic, it would be nice to see the students yell during the visiting teams free throws not yell out 'hey, noise' because the cheerleades are holding up signs that say that. Or have the section wave their hands to the left or right when they are shooting on the students end.
