So what happened with Leek Leek, another of the "saviors" that was to grace our program?

So what happened with Leek Leek, another of the "saviors" that was to grace our program? Ok, I'm upset too, but what relevance does this have to anything? Who called him a "savior?"

OK forget the savior remark. Why isn't Leek a Panther?

OK forget the savior remark. Why isn't Leek a Panther? I don't believe he qualified. As for where he is today, I have no idea...

Why was anyone surprised he didn't end up having the credits needed to qualify? He didn't come to America from Sudan until a couple years ago didn't he? I think he also shuttled between several different high schools when he got here as well.

If true, why did we recruit him? Is this simply another example of a recruit that didn't work? From what I've gathered, this was a recruit that Koonce used his "connections" in North Carolina to get. Jeter went along with it because Koonce was the AD, and then it didn't work out...Pretty minor in the grand scheme of things...

Yep, Leek was a Koonce guy who pretty much everyone knew would never qualify. Everyone except Koonce, that is.

I think the re-hashing of this thread has proved one thing...gman2 has no life.

Good for him. I wonder if the door really has been left open for him or if the team will just move on

According to multiple sources, the Panthers have offered Nick Wiggins, a 6-foot-6, 210-pound small forward from Vincennes who is also being courted by Kent State and Indiana State.
The Leek ship has sailed.

The Leek ship has sailed. you may be right (and something tells me your sources are good), but why would they come to that conclusion already? if he didn't qualify academically he can't come to D-1 until after next season anyway
