Hello, I was just looking at espn's uwm discussion board and someone posted that this board was more active. I have been in the band for 3yrs and been going to uwm games for 6yrs and have not heard anything about this board before. I think it is a great way to generate ideas and get the word out.
--Just stop rippin on the band-we can't play at every game! If we did we would have to play at every girls game too! I think I saw maybe 2 students at the girls game yesterday. So overall we go to more "UWM" games than some of you guys rippin on us.
-I do understand that we are not as crazy as in years past, but that is mostly due to a couple of dorky Grad students that could give a rats ass about basketball. They look at me like I'm an idiot when I yell my ass off at games. Overall-given our smaller size I think we put out a loud yet good quality sound.
--Just to give you an idea what our Sat. was like:
12:45 pick up horn from music building 1:00 walk to klotsche 1:15 warm-up 1:30 play before game 2:00 Women's game 4:00 post game play 4:15 take horn back to music building 4:30 grab a bite to eat 5:45 meet with band AGAIN 6:00 leave for the "CELL" 6:30 unload set-up 7:00 warm up+pre game music 8:00 Men's game 10:00 post game play 10:30 load bus 11:00 put horn away 11:15 GET HOME-DRINK BEER!
So lay off the band!
Oh I forgot to tell you we spent ten hours over winter break working on a "Panther band greatest hits" CD.

Russ wouldn't be able to write such a well-formed and concise note! Anyway you're both dorks.
Go Band!

Dorks? You're the one with a totally unoriginal name. At least I demonstrated a thought provoking picture with mine, loser.

Chill out, Band! The Panther Band is a big improvement over what we used to have, which was nothing. You guys look fine and you sound fine. I think people are forgetting that we are all volunteers or lowly paid students. Next thing they will want is a professional photographer (which I ain't). With a large portion of our student body graduating every year, and moving on to real jobs, all of our programs are in a state of contant flux. Key people can and do make a difference, but they often move on to greener pastures in Cincinnatti, leaving behind unfinished business -- a work in progress. Don't beat up on yourselves and don't pay attention to your critics either... just keep playing loud and often. "Let's hear it for The Band, 'cause The Band Always Wins"

Hey Dan thanks for your clear and concise note.
You have to remember that us tuba players are a little s-l-o-w. Or maybe were all just drunk?
